Two Active-duty Airmen assigned to the 319th Reconnaissance Wing at Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D., are dead following an early morning shooting at the base, according to an Air Force statement.
The names and ranks of the victims are being withheld, pending next of kin notification. The shooting occurred around 4:30 a.m. on June 1. Base emergency services responded to the scene, have it contained, and believe there is currently no risk to other personnel at this time, according to the release.
An investigation is underway and mental health experts are available to care for those impacted, the service said.
About 2,000 Total Force Airmen are assigned to the wing, which supports the 69th Reconnaissance Groups RQ-4 Global Hawk mission.
..... or a romance gone sour............
Hmmmm...
We’ll have to wait for the facts to be spun by the Liberal media. Then we’ll know what isn’t the truth about this.
Not sure if terrorism or mental illness.
It would have to be terrorism.
My first guess.
We’ve had a couple of those here................
A Mooslim? If so, they won’t have a clue as to a motive.
Wow. That is actually the third sentence of the report.
Never having encountered anything like this during my Army “career” I don’t know how commanders are required to handle it in regards to publicity. Is there any kind of requirement that details be released to the general public?
There is No clue as to whether this was done by an outsider or whether it done by another Airman.
I heard the shooter was radicalized by far-right extremists while viewing Russian Facebook ads.
Hi.
Probably domestic, but could be foreign.
Minot not far away, nukes...
Tin foil...
5.56mm
I was at GFAFB and it is cold and remote. At the time of my stay there was a lot of "alternative lifestyle" going on with married couples.
One local report says it occurred at a dorm.
I’m pretty sure it’s a romance thing. Fits the pattern.
Two people.
430 AM.
No further danger.
That would be a murder-suicide.
