Ha, my town will allow A rooster, but my family wouldn't. I had the idea of getting the neighbors used to a rooster by playing its sound constantly for a few weeks before he arrived, so the noise would actually settle down after he did. Spent a couple weeks in the hospital around that time with a work related injury, and discovered aftwerwards that no one else in my large family was interested in caring for them. Was surprised that none of the dozen or so died, and gave them away.
