If I lived in gun free New York, I would see a lawyer about the legality of owning a clone civil war era black powder pistol. It is only 6 shots and you have to pack each cyclinder by hand, but it would be better than nothing. In many places, a black powder pistol is considered a firearm “accessory” and not a firearm itself. In a crunch like this, it is a lot better than defending your business with a 2-x-4 and getting beaten with it. One shot from a smoke belching black powder gun should scatter the rats back to their hidey holes.
A cheap DAO 9mm, chambered and with a double stack full mag, would also do the trick. Why worry about safeties? “This is my safety” from Blackhawk Down.
There was a picture posted earlier this week from the ‘65 LA riots. Big hand-made signs saying something like “Black owned”. Inside the store, beside the sign was the owner or worker holding his shotgun.
Personally I would have gone back out there when the wife was getting the snot beaten out of her with my 7” hunting blade had start gutting those POS. Sure I’d probably die, but with dignity and I’d be taking a couple of them with me.
