As the world grapples with the Chinese coronavirus pandemic, ongoing turmoil in the Middle East and Beijings brutal interventions in Hong Kong, the organization once charged with offering solutions to such problems is sidelined with nobody listening to its calls for peace, harmony and global unity.
U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has bemoaned a lack of leadership during the worlds worst series of crises since 1945. Where we see power, we sometimes do not see the necessary leadership, he said recently.

At last, they’re in the “Acceptance” stage of grief & loss. Now just shut it down and move on.
bttt
When you are as useless as teats on a bore hog, what do you expect?
“...Where we see power, we sometimes do not see the necessary leadership, he said recently....”
He’s slamming Trump and the US.
Of course the UN loves all the third world countries ganging up on the US and Israel.
Because they’re a bunch of petty bureaucrats mostly interested in getting rich and having sex with children.
??Of course the UN loves all the third world countries ganging up on the US and Israel.<<
That is all the UN is: a big anti-US/Israel debating society.
The only thing it does is deeply line despots from third world countries’ pockets and keep a bunch of paper-shufflers employed.
U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres... Where we see power, we sometimes do not see the necessary leadership, he said recently.
IOW, the useless do-nothing no-talent parasitic demagogue is talking about President Trump.
They are just now noticing?
Or just now admitting?
These words are the progressives 2020 election mantra... MN has displayed their kind of leadership skills.
The UN makes the world a worse place just by its very existence. Net negative value.
Global redistribution of wealth isn't a UN mission. Its donor countries have always received earnest guarantees that it isn't a world government but its diplomatic staff insist on regarding it as such. You don't hear "Nobody obeys us" from someone who doesn't expect to be obeyed.
Trouble is, nobody is listening to a word the U.N. says, even as it burns through those member financial contributions...
To get an idea of how much its members have overreached we need only look at the response to the Christmas tsunami in Indonesia in 2004. The one organization supposedly dedicated to disaster relief on a world scale found its donated supplies locked up in warehouses undistributed while its bureaucratic staff luxuriated in five-star hotels squabbling over nearly everything, leaving actual relief in the hands, ironically, of the military in the form of the Indian, Australian, and U.S. navies. Prime mission failure.
This is not, as the diplomats claim, a function of polarization within the UN Security Council, it's a function of wasteful, excessive, and inefficient bureaucracy that prioritizes its $3 billion on the upkeep of an elitist diplomatic class. No wonder nobody listens to them.
“U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has bemoaned a lack of leadership during the worlds worst series of crises since 1945”
He is the Secretary General. Instead of complaining, why doesn’t HE lead?
Implode that ugly building right into the East River.
The UN has outlasted both the Congress of Vienna, and the League of Nations. They can at least claim that as an accomplishment.
The U.N. has worked as it was designed by Alger Hiss and his commie overlords. To create such entanglements that would enable the Lilliputians to restrain Gulliver and allow the commie globalists to move forward more or less unopposed.
I attribute the cold peace to the existence of nuclear weapons and assured mutual destruction, rather than to the UN.
I wasn’t giving the UN credit for anything, except for its longevity, compared with other organizations that promised peace and did nothing.
Yup. I wonder if there's a cafeteria in there? Or some other kind of dining facility? Seems like it would be a good job for a shiftless bum like me. :^)
To the last one out, don’t forget to shut the lights and close the door.
