St. Louis, MO A man was killed early Saturday morning in St. Louis while attempting to loot a FedEx big rig amid ongoing protests over the death of George Floyd.
Multiple protests occurred throughout St. Louis on Friday night and into the early morning hours on Saturday.
In fact, protesters even went so far as to block and eventually shut down all lanes of 70 West in the downtown area.
During the uprising, multiple outlets reported that some looters were targeting big rigs.
Real Stl News was on the scene of one such incident that turned deadly near Broadway Street.
An African American male suffered fatal wounds when he, along with multiple others, attempted to stop and loot a semi pulling FedEx Ground double trailers.
A Facebook LIVE video was streamed around 3 a.m. local time, showing a group of looters pulling packages from the front FedEx trailer and tossing them on the ground and to others standing nearby.
The video turned graphic as one looter became caught on the trailer as the stopped semi pulled away.
Witnesses to the incident could be heard screaming and yelling, Somebody stop that [expletive]! and He (trucker) got somebody under that [expletive]!
The man was dragged approximately five blocks to his death, witnesses claim.
The video has since been removed.
However, horrific photos of the aftermath were also posted to social media by a witness.
A separate video from another angle shows rioters jumping on the tractor and pounding on the windows as looters raided the trailer.
The trucker repeatedly sounded the rigs airhorn as a helicopter can be seen flying overhead.
FedEx released the following statement regarding the event Saturday morning:
Our hearts go out to all those who are grieving the events of this week. We are deeply saddened to learn of a tragic situation involving a demonstrator in St. Louis and one of our vehicles. We offer our sincerest condolences to the family of the individual involved. There is no higher priority for FedEx than safety, and we are cooperating fully with the investigating authorities at this time.
Additionally, eye witnesses report a semi pulling an Amazon trailer was also raided moments before the FedEx incident.
The identities of the trucker and the victim have yet to be released by authorities.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
St. Louis is not the only city where truckers are being targeted as the nationwide riots intensify.

He wasn't a "protester". He was a flat out rioter.
To be fair, he demonstrated why you do not screw with a semi.
He wasnt looting. He broke into the trailer because he had already spent weeks waiting anxiously for the textbooks hed ordered for his courses in calculus, molecular biology, organic chemistry and quantum physics. :-P
Tragedy is King Lear. This was more like comedy.
He was flat out, alright.
Who was it who said “Tragedy is when I cut my finger; comedy is when you fall into an open sewer and die”.
It might have been me, but actually I think it was Mel Brooks.
It's a shame hundreds of other arsonists, looters and rioters are suffering the same fate.
Big wheels keep on turning.
I don’t blame the truck driver for this. I blame the idiots blocking traffic and looting the truck. I don’t know why the red pick up truck didn’t push that nice black car blocking traffic out of his way. I would have inched up to him and floored it as soon as we made contact. Too bad he didn’t have a push bar on his truck.
I don’t know what is happening, a sibling with Apple stuff and my wife with a chrome book are getting these pictures.
Some freepers are and some aren’t
FedEx should put me in charge of public relations.
Tell that to James Fields Jr. of Charlottesville, Virginia fame.
He’s i prison for life.
I should be clear. The video showed one of the gang showing a 9mm gun and bragging about it(And the bad guys face is very clear). That is the only visible gun moment from the video. But there is also a time where they have stopped a Red pickup truck, and they appear to be telling the driver that if he crosses a line on the road then he will be shot. No gun is actually visible in the video at that point. But it is greatly assumed that the pickup driver can see a gun being pointed at him as he stays put and does not try to continue.
The FedEx driver says that two guns were being pointed at him. But we do not see that detail in the video. The video only shows the passenger side of the truck. And it is dark out.
Why indeed. I wonder if it is part of the Federal highway system.
I believe it was a UPS big rig. In any case, I find the outcome sad, at least if the driver had to spend a lot of time cleaning the Antifa-goo off of his truck instead of celebrating his good deed for the day.
he's gone to his reward....his choice...his karma....we should be happy for him....
