CNN correspondent Omar Jimenez and his camera crew have been arrested live on air while reporting on the ongoing protests in Minneapolis.
Footage quickly emerged online, and many of Jimenezs colleagues took to twitter in outcry over the incident (see below).
CNN has confirmed the incident, adding that a producer and camera operator were also arrested.

It will take gunfire and artillery before the media call it a riot.
Maybe it was easier for the police to arrest some media types than arrest rioters, looters and arsonists.
If it was truly unacceptable, then the Governor should be firing state police officers. Bet that never happens.
“Reason for arrest?”
Inciting a riot would be an easy charge, as would “stupidity unbecoming a human being” if what were a crime.
“I dislike CNN, but arresting reporters for no apparent reason is bad. Freedom of the press applies to all.”
I’m done with that. When the press OPENLY supports one political side, it is no longer ‘the press’, it is a PLAYER, and needs to be treated as such.
I like the idea of a press, but not the horrific monster we have today.
Omar’s dad was one of the greatest early astronauts.
If you are in the middle of a riot situation and the police or NG tell you to leave the area and you don’t comply they will arrest you. Being in the press does not give you immunity.
“Reason for arrest?
I dislike CNN...”
I gotta say...I feel the same way. The reporter was even asking for direction from the SP...”Where do you want us?” Cops stood around like zombie goons and then just arrested him. That was completely wrong on their part.
Move.
Where to?
Belligerence, youre under arrest.
WTF?
He was also a great Naval officer(submarines)!
“... everyone in the country knows its a riot. ...”
Looks WORSE than a riot, actually... looks more like complete anarchy.
I care less about a couple of idiot CNN personnel getting arrested than I do about the innocent citizens caught up in the mayhem and watching their homes, businesses, property getting destroyed.
But CNN will get to lecture us - for the next three weeks, probably - how we’re supposed to feel bad for their “reporters” and how it’s Trump’s fault, somehow.
Pathetic, isn’t it?
“..Omars dad was one of the greatest early astronauts...”
Apparently, he had “The Left Stuff”... (yeah... I know.. )
ATF physically assaulted the crew who videoed the Waco Koresh raid.
footage is in the sequel to rules of engagement

What happened in a different state decades ago about something else is not germane. This is simply a case of a State police unit commander allowing his unit to get out of control. The commander will be in hot water - very hot.
Waco was a deliberate action approved by US AT Janet Reno.
When you are told to leave or move in a high danger situation you comply. If the National Guard was or likely is coming into the area with troops and heavy equipment the cops are usually instructed to clear the area. They were mobilizing last night. It’s that simple.
Short of it is it is not uncommon and it rarely makes the news even when the news reporters are physically assaulted or arrested for no crime.
LOL...loved the way the 3rd Precinct "mobilised" outta their building last night. (Start are the 1:15 mark...)

All seriousness aside...I'm guessing EVERY SINGLE OFFICER was armed up and ready to defend their station...but were told to stand down and abandon the building.
Because of that incident is why the Guard was mobilized! Not before!
Don’t you think every officer there was ready to defend their station?
I do.
They got overwhelmed! I think the incident of the killing of Mr. Floyd was not staged nor were some of the protests. However, I think Antifa has entered into the fray causing the increased problems in MN and in other states.
Some cops have a taste for venison
