Contact tracing used to be standard procedure in most of the USA because of ..... wait for it .... Venereal Disease. But then along came AIDS.

Aw geez...like contact tracing wasn’t mandatory for gonorrhea and syphilis since the early part of the 20th century...if not earlier. Almost had it wiped out.
Of course that’s direct one on one transmission. Stopping contact tracing in the gay community has lead to the huge upsurge of STDs in that group.
From what I read Korea started contact tracing very early when it made sense.

I do have my doubts the success of this nonsense , a mass non compliance movement can turn ugly quick. I for one doubt that my local Sheriff will accompany the “ tracer” into my home for the interview. No one enters my house uninvited unless they produce a warrant. I did have an incident during dopey Obama days when they sent a Census taker out to see me, the youngster unfortunately left “ distraught”. The only way to stop this huge invasion of privacy is mass, aggressive “disobedience”, I use the word disobedience as this is a public forum.
The problem is, masks protect someone else from you. Your use of a mask prevents the virus laden droplets from escaping the webbing of your mask. It is these droplets that transmit the virus. If you think your heavy feeling in your lungs is due to vaping and not the virus or, some other insignificant reason, you might be mistaken. You might might cough or sneeze in the store, leaving a vapor cloud with the virus to contaminate the surrounding shelves of merchandise. All it takes is once. It is the same precaution you use when driving your car through an intersection. Every time you look both ways before you proceed. All it takes is one time not to look.

That’s correct. It take an incredible amount of work to undo the bad reaction to the early infections. South Korea had their lesson with MERS, and had a plan perfected when COVID-19 came along. The U.S., under Obama, had no plan and we were sitting ducks. It may be that contact tracing would help in places where outbreaks occur to keep the virus from making new access to new hosts.
Seems to me if the lefties can have sanctuary cities, us righties can have vacination free zones. Best to start planning ahead, this nonsense is coming. It may well be the issue that starts me homeschooling. Out of control government and the left wing really, really would not benefit when I HAD to start teaching my kids exactly the way I see things.
