WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Sixteen former Watergate prosecutors on Wednesday said U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan should be allowed to review all the facts before deciding whether to grant a Justice Department request to drop the criminal case against President Donald Trump's former national security adviser Michael Flynn.
In a filing with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, the former prosecutors said they feared the Justice Department was not acting in the public interest, and that Sullivan has the power to scrutinize the request in order to ensure that the waters of justice are not polluted.
Flynn filed an emergency petition with the federal appeals court on May 21, asking the court to force Sullivan's hand and toss the case.

He is not "former", he is retired but still holds his commission with the rank of LTG.
So they managed to come up with their brief within the 10 days set by the circuit court, eh?
Just the fact that they were Watergate prosecutors makes me question their integrity.
Never click on the MSN.com link. Never click on the MSN.com link. Why do I ever forget?
What rock did these slimy critters crawl out from under?
Judge is a Political Hack that could care less about the Law!
Presumption of Innocence?

Hey, dead - Never click on the MSN.com link.
Review facts? WTF has he been doing while presiding over the trial for the past 3 years?
Are what's being trotted out mere presumptions, as all the witnesses in the House Dems' impeachment trial had as the best they could muster, or do these really old lawyers have some clear and convincing evidence?
What's the percentage of these prosecutors that are Senior Executive Service or have attended Bohemian Grove? If it's a large percentage in either case, we can be assured these are Deep State fixtures are decidedly not working in the public interest.
This Issue was Just Decided by the Supreme Court, Fokker I believe. The Appeals Court should Cite All these scumbag Attorneys with Abuse of Process and Hold them in Contempt and sanction them.
Personally I like MSN links as they get around the subscription requirements from places like the WSJ, WOPO, Motley fool, USA Today, etc.
I think her lowless Hitlery was part of that prosecution office. If memory serves me correct, she was fired because she lied about whether Nixon was allowed to have representation. Worse, she was fired by a dem who found her to be dishonest. Wow.
So a former prosecutor is telling a judge to become judge, prosecutor, Jury and executioner. Bet these guys have never read the Constitution!
A criminal case has a judge, a prosecutor and a defendant. The judge is there to preside over the conflict between the other two. If both the defendant and the prosecutor agree to end the case the case is over and the judge needs to move on. If a judge becomes a prosecutor he is no longer a judge.
And just what is the mental condition of these prosecutors. . .we may have some Joe Biden’s on our hands.
WTF has he been doing while presiding over the trial for the past 3 years?
Well he saw enough facts to call him a traitor. Kind of prejudicial mind showing there, eh Judge?? I hope our paths never cross in the court room because I know I would not get a fair hearing.
The Deep State really wants this guy buried.

That’s then reason they used these old washed up liars.
Yep. Partisan scum. They were back then, and they undoubtedly are now.
Screw all of them.
Yeah. For these heretofore underground deep staters to surface on command in unison to support the cover up tells you just how bad the truth must be.
