And so, for the first time during the COVID-19 pandemic, North Carolina farmers have had to start euthanizing at least 1.5 million chickens, a state agriculture official told the News & Observer, calling the measure a "last resort."
Most meat plants in North Carolina and nationwide won't disclose just how may of their employees have contracted coronavirus, but the close-packed working conditions have turned the facilities into disease hotspots since the early days of the pandemic.

My sil did that, too. It was $1.05 on the hoof... calf heifers. My daughter did some cornish cross chickens. Free range and grass fed along with some grains, the birds finished out at around 5 lbs each in 12 weeks. She raises her own eggs and turkeys, too. They also hunt and bring in some nice big game. They used to make fun of me and call me bunker mom. Now one says “I’m turnung into my mother” and the other says...thanks for teaching us how to survive.
I don’t eat groundhog, by the way, but the neighbors said that it was delicious.
i’ll take their word for it :)
“Meat plants are mostly back on line. “
Here in Iowa one of the largest hog producers has started killing mature hogs because no place to take them for harvest. . A sickening thing to have to do to valuable animals that consumers would love buy if they could.
I saw Trump speak recently and he was talking about banning beef imports. They are look at it. Great video below. The guy from National Cattlemen's association starts about 24:30. Not sure where he talks about banning beef import but I think its before that. They talk about aid for those that have had to euthanize flocks right after that.

I have a freezer full but i see the supply is back to normal.
I saw that once.
Yep. Theyre full.

What meat problems?
Eat fish!
Government decrees, executive orders, regulations, legislation, and excess spending are crushing capitalism and imposing Communism. We know that Communism works and gets results; it’s probably the only system, theory, or philosophy capable, when imposed fully and opposition crushed, of producing a genuine lethal famine in these United States of America.
Socialism works and gets results (just genocidal bad ones). Prefer good results? Vote Trump; save lives.
Color me skeptical...the Fake News folks would be all over this after the President declared them to be essential business and ordered them to stay open...and this fake news story is the best they could do...
A "meat problem" that is a direct result of far too many American "men" remaining scared schumerless of a weakening virus who remain locked away from society (either in their homes or outdoors hiding their identity behind a mask), living comfortably under the crushing thumb of a politician and behaving more like effing p*ssies than real American men ... in front of their wives and sons, no less.
Gates doesnt want you eating meat so he thinks he can force you to consume his crap.

Worth repeating and keeping in mind.
Out here in fly-over land, SAMS has the best cuts in normal times. When “the panic buying” was in full swing, we had city folks cleaning out local grocers and our SAMS. Ended up feed stores, cattle ranchers, and local processors got together and began supplying fresh(local) meat to the community. Plenty of cattle out here now and pastures look beautiful thanks to the regular rain events lately.
Good point. If one type if meat is in short supply, do something different. Adapt.
