Too bad it was an effigy. The government needs to start fearing the people, not the other way around.

“As the rally entered its final stages, organizers reportedly led a crowd to the governor’s mansion as part of an attempt to deliver a message asking Beshear to resign.”

Has the Governor responded the demands of the people who attended the rally?

What was the timeline for resignation that the people have specified?

Is there any indication that the Governor will abide by their demands and resign?

Mitch McConnell: “there is no place for hate in Kentucky.”

Protests are now hate? The category of hate is getting overgrown and needs to be broken up like Ma Bell.

So much evil afoot and we are being discouraged from hating? How then should we regard evil?

A bunch of patriots blew off some steam. The Governor should count himself lucky to have such patriots.

Damn right it does.

Kentucky Secretary of State Michael G. Adams (R) said. "The words of John Wilkes Booth have no place in the Party of Lincoln."

Maybe Kentucky needs a new (and more educated) Secretary of State as well.

"Sic Semper Tyrannis" was also the motto on the regimental flag for the 22nd United States Colored Infantry (USCI) of the US Colored Troops. Under their commander-in-chief, President Abraham Lincoln, the 22nd USCI fought in 1864-1865 at the battles at Petersburg and Richmond fighting for the Union. Later the 22nd USCI participated in President Lincoln’s funeral procession.

Did they file and receive a permit to protest?

Aren’t those the new rules these days when you disagree with your government?

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said in a statement on Twitter that the actions were "unacceptable"

It appears that McConnell and Biden have something in common - dementia.

“Sic semper tyrannis” was simply quoted by John Wilkes Booth (allegedly). He wasn’t the author. The phrase is the motto of the State of Virginia. It’s on their flag.

The correct word is “hanged,” not hung. Protesters hanged an effigy.... The Hill needs a new copy editor.

KY people like those in LA can always be counted upon to back the Democrat running for governor. Otherwise, they are mostly Republican.

The episode prompted outrage from state leaders of both parties.

Oh, boo hoo...what did they expect when millions of lives/businesses are being destroyed?

“”Hanging Governor Beshear in effigy is beyond reprehensible, and yet it is also the logical conclusion of the hateful rhetoric we saw touted on the Capitol grounds earlier this month that was implicitly condoned by elected representatives from the legislature’s majority party,” Kentucky House Democratic leaders said in a statement. “Doing this in front of our Capitol, just a short walk from where the Governor, First Lady, and their two young children live, is an act that reeks of hate and intimidation and does nothing but undermine our leading work to battle this deadly disease and restore our economy safely.”

I would say it wasn’t reprehensible, an *actual hanging* would have been reprehensible.

I would say it was a warning. Doesn’t take too much for a mob to go from acting out to just acting.....

Mobs are scary things. Angry mobs, even more so.
