The political persecution of Lt. General Michael Flynn is one of the most shameful political assassinations this country has ever seen. It is seen by some as a sideshow to the efforts by the Left to bring down President Donald Trump, but I have come to believe the events surrounding Flynn are central to the overall abuse of power and betrayal of the trust of the American public by the Obama Administration.
I view the lawlessness and bitter vindictiveness of the Obama Administration and its allies in the media who have played a major role in this scandal as the most corrosive and destructive actions I have ever seen by elected and appointed officials, and I feel that they threaten the very core of this country. There must be punishment for these crimes, or we will see even more brazen lawbreaking by the Left.
The events that led up to President Trump firing General Flynn are complex, and I believe that the evidence of malfeasance by the Left and the Media is more difficult to discern when it is viewed piecemeal, but when it is viewed in the context of a comprehensive timeline, the intentions of the perpetrators become far more evident.
To that end, I have created a table that is in chronological order and has key events that when viewed, in the order of action, make far clearer the poisonous and seditious (if not treasonous) intentions of those who wish to both bring down President Trump and preserve the legacy of Barack Obama.
One of the biggest hurdles many reasonable people have is that they have a difficult time comprehending why the Obama Administration would target a man like Lt. General Michael Flynn, someone who should have been a source of pride for this country with his sharp intelligence skills and faithful service to our country, but instead had his reputation destroyed, was driven out of respectable society, was marginalized, and financially ruined in a filthy, evil, concerted, orchestrated campaign of hard knuckle politics by the Left and their allies in the Media to exact a toll on a duly elected President by destroying a man who should be lionized for his efforts to revamp the military and civilian intelligence instruments. Most normal people are baffled, and cannot easily fathom this campaign by people who wish to keep alive the lie of the Obama Administration as somehow being the most transparent and scandal free in modern American history.
It makes no sense. But author Lee Smith has written a brilliant article that illustrates clearly and cogently WHY the Obama Administration made a special target out of a man like Michael Flynn and answers nearly ALL those questions.

THIRD: Flynn gave vocal and public notice that in his role with the Trump Administration, he was going to call the Intelligence Community to account for their failures, justify their missions, and, as Lee Smith stated, “Flynn told friends and colleagues he was going to make the entire senior intelligence service hand in their resignations and then detail why their work was vital to national security. Flynn knew the USIC well enough to know that thousands of higher-level bureaucrats wouldn’t make the cut.”
All of those things put together explain just why Flynn had to be destroyed. And they set out to do it.

Yes...that alone would pretty much tell you the why of it. When the Left threatened Trump when he made enemies of the intelligence community (in their minds) this was what they had in mind as the mechanisms of revenge.

IT's the visible surface portion of the iceberg which represents the biggest scandal in US history. The rest of the iceberg is the Obama administration's corruption and abuse of power. Their abuses are such that members of the Obama administration, up to Obama himself, need to go to prison.

BTW, Phyllis Schlafly was a good friend of mine. We hit the front doors in Illinois together many times during the ERA fight. I was privileged to meet up with her again after many decades when....there she was!.....in a hotel FR cocktail party preceding one of Free Republic's Washington DC banquets! I was thrilled to death to see her again. She's long gone now, but I think of her all the time. Thanks for your tribute to her on your home page.

I agree completely. And in my mind, that is the staggering thing-that this IS the tip of the iceberg. Bongino has been saying for a while-the spying didn’t start with Flynn and Trump...

Bongino, being a former LEO and investigator, has that sixth sense that a lot of police get because they have to deal so often with the scummy underbelly of society.
The ones who are good at their job can smell BS when it comes to the surface. It is why shows like “Cops” are so popular, we are in on the joke, the cops are in on the joke, and only the criminal appears to still be a clueless dummy!
I do enjoy Bongino’s approach to it, no doubt. And when he says something doesn’t smell right, I tend to listen closely to his analysis.
I would love it if the investigators hired him as a consultant, but...I think there are enough people who understand what is going on. The question is, do they have the moral courage to do what needs doing.
We shall see.
