New York City is heading the same way.

The left is full scorched earth. They will burn down America sea to shining sea. We act like we are doing something by taking a leak to it.

“Probably the biggest service economy state in the nation.”

Remember when all the free traitors said we no longer needed to make anything, send manufacturing to the third world and the savings would allow us to buy more goods and services and just become a service economy?

Go to a thousand folks who frequently go to Vegas and ask them their feelings on returning. For the rest of 2020, I doubt if you find more than one-third of them either in the financial situation to do so, or having confidence that things are hygienic enough to enjoy the stay.

WOW! Wisconsin is currently at 14%+ and I thought THAT was bad enough!

“I don’t think there’s another state so heavily dependent upon tourism. Even Hawai’i has non-tourism related industry. Agricultural, fishing, ranching, etc..”

Mining is really big in Nevada. Reno also has a diverse economy. Las Vegas, though, is really dependent on tourism.

It’s not even a service economy. It’s an ENTERTAINMENT economy.

There probably isn’t a city anywhere in the U.S. that relies on discretionary spending as much as Las Vegas does.

Just like CA, OR, MN and MI, the Governor is the source of the problem.

I know of some who would be on the next plane. The local (Seattle area) Indian casinos are opening and people are lining up.

It's not the virus that's keeping them away.

Headline says “in history”.

Article says since “1976”.

Vegas ate Nevada long ago. I don’t think Reno is big enough to have much impact on the state’s politics but Las Vegas has just blown up in size and influence.

All it takes is one major city to completely turn a fairly rural red state blue. Seattle completely ate Washington State. Virginia has been completely swamped by D.C.

This is why small states like Idaho and South Carolina have to be very careful. It doesn’t take a huge amount of people moving into one major city to overwhelm the politics of such small states. Idaho is 2 million and South Carolina is 5 million. When liberals flood Boise and Charleston, those states are eventually going to flip.

It is terrifying how the big city liberals are flipping all of our remaining red states. We need to flood these states with conservatives. If you live in California or New York, do America a favor and move move and save these smaller states and others like them.

Even before COVID Vegas casinos were struggling to attract young gamblers and stay relevant. Their life preserver was conventions and now those are kaput too.

I’ll be there next week. Is anything open? I had heard they were maybe going to start opening at the end of May but my friend I’m going to be visiting hasn’t heard anything else.

Devastating number. When May’s number comes in I wouldn’t be surprised if that number hits 30 percent.

Hard to see how the housing sector doesn’t collapse with 30% unemployment. Tons of new housing developments in NV. They crashed hard in 2008, too.
