The suspect who was shot dead as he carried out Thursday's 'terrorism-related' attack on a Texas naval air base has been identified by the FBI as a 20-year-old Syrian-born college student.
According to investigators, Adam Salim Alsahli opened fire at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi in an attack that wounded one sailor, a member of the base security force, but no one other than the assailant was killed.
A group that monitors online activity of jihadists has since claimed that Alsahli voiced support for hardline Islamic clerics on social media prior to the thwarted attack.

Speaking as a lifetime Catholic who had a 10-year relationship with an official of Catholic Charities, I can confirm that that organization is a clear and present danger to the security of this country.

Several years ago, somewhat late at night, I drove along a freeway access road to turn into to the AF base in Minneapolis. I was busily looking for base direction signs, and didn’t even notice the stop sign ahead of the turn (which is unusual for an access road). I turned, without stopping into the base. I was driving slowly, and stopped at the guard house some yards in.
The guard allowed my entry with proper identification, but then said: “It would be a good idea for you to stop at the stop sign before you enter. The guards that you cannot see already have their .50 caliber machine guns off safety for anyone not stopping”. I profusely thanked him for the good advice.
I suspect that even now with the remote controlled barriers and more, there are other unseen safety measures on bases. Many thanks to the alert guards who risk their own lives to keep us all safe.
Then how the hell did he kill 14 people? One of them being in his (or her) mother’s womb?If they weren't armed, how did Hassan end up shot? And paralyzed.
