President Donald Trump spoke briefly at the White House Friday and called for state governors to allow for churches and other places of worship to reopen to the public.
Trump says he considers houses of worship “essential” and wants them to reopen this weekend.

In Arizona churches were opened May 17. Of the three churches I surveyed, all three were over half full, no masks, lots of hugging. Many folks feel like the whole thing was political.
He is effectively threatening lawsuits, grants, and even military action against them.
As much as I would like to see a military occupation and subsequent Reconstruction of California, and others that isn’t going to happen!

I doubt that the president has any authority to force a church to reopen. All he might be able to do is override the governors’ decisions to keep them closed. Then it is the churches’ choice.
My church closed before the lockdown. It seems to me it was their choice then, so they may feel it’s their choice now. I’m sure they will do the right thing. They have always been blessed.

If a state violates your first amendment rights, Trump can indeed act against them.
And now the revolutionary socialist governors have to decide, do they appear to obey Trump? Or do they fight him for the right to close churches?

As for leaning on governors financially California is losing billions if not a Trillion and no the democratic machine does not seem to care**************
Newsom thinks he can get the feds to give him one trillion or so.
He spends 50B or so on non citizens living in CA
And more billions on a train to nowhere.
His duty is to redirect that money to important legal uses.
But he will say if the gov doesn’t give him money he will have to cut funds to police and fire services
SOP for dems in power.
Oh and he needs to bring in ICE to deport illegal aliens.

I think Peoria county has 8 deaths. I see perhaps 1% of people wearing masks outside or in their cars. Very weird.
There are a LOT of people walking and biking outside. You see whole families walking or biking together. I’m out every day with my dog for 40 minutes to an hour.
