The University of California (UC) system regents unanimously voted Thursday to waive their standardized test requirement for their incoming freshman until 2024, meaning that high school students will no longer need to take the ACT or SAT to gain admission to one of the expansive system's universities.
“Today’s decision by the Board marks a significant change for the University’s undergraduate admissions,” Janet Napolitano, president of the UC system and former Homeland Security secretary, said in a statement.
“We are removing the ACT/SAT requirement for California students and developing a new test that more closely aligns with what we expect incoming students to know to demonstrate their preparedness for UC,” she added.
For the 2021-22 and 2022-23 academic years, universities in the UC system will be given the option to use the ACT or SAT "if applicants choose to submit them."

Next, no need to attend classes or take exams. Everybody gets a degree, regardless of grades or knowledge of any major.
What are they going to do when their new test gets the same results? Why dont they just mail every brown non asain person a degree.
The “new test” will be similar to the NFL’s draft/executive proposal.
New test:
1. Do you want to go to college?
2. Are you politically correct?
3. Which of the 53 genders are you?
4. Do you have any physical disabilities that would prevent you from taking part in anti American demonstrations?
5. Have you ever been in a church?
Can’t they just replace the SAT with IQ tests?
so you may now get a degree by attendance.

They want to do whatever they deem woke, and declare it good. Measurable criteria that might be correlated with success or failure would be exactly what they don’t want.
It appears that California is trying to lower its universities down to the level of its public schools.
(i.e. Worse than Mississippi)
I wonder what will happen if they keep lowering their standards.
So, no standardized tests to counter grade inflation at the local level. What could possibly go wrong with that?!

Don’t ever deceive yourself into thinking California may one day turn itself around.
Unless someone has been sent to California for military duty, or sent as a missionary to preach to the lost, there is no reason for any sane American to live in that state. No good can come of it. Get out.

All this means is huge freshman classes with a 70% drop-out rate, and a wave of unemployable 20 year olds who already have a semester of college debt following them to the Starbucks.
