The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has arrested the man who recorded cellphone video of Ahmaud Arbery being shot and killed.
William Roddie Bryan, 50, shot the video that showed what appears to be Gregory and Travis McMichael shooting and killing Ahmaud Arbery while he was out jogging in February.
In a news release, the GBI said it charged Bryan with felony murder and criminal contempt to commit false imprisonment.

Mmm. Ham Sandwich.
Are the McMichaels going to plead guilty too?
Why? You seem pretty intent on justifying your's.
Two of the shots were fired while the two were grappling for the shotgun. It seems very likely the first shot was fired while Abery had his hand on, or about to grasp the shotgun.
It does. The autopsy said the first shot was in the hand and forearm, which are consistent with Arbery pulling on the gun while McMichael had his hand on the trigger. But the next two wounds were in Arbery's chest. That isn't accidental. If it was a pump-operated shotgun it would require McMichael to work the pump twice and shoot twice. Even if it was a self-loading shotgun McMichael has to pull the trigger twice more. That's deliberate.
How can you, in any fair statement, characterize those as "warning shots"?
Never saw the musical "Chicago" I take it? "Cell Block Tango?"
It can if they kill someone doing it.
BTW, I am from GA also...South GA.
Well that is true anywhere, but like everywhere in this country you have to convince the jury.
No, they were not present.
The McM were in their house - five houses away.
By his police testimony, we know that the dad only saw A. Running down the road.
Try again.
“As stated earlier, you may win in court, but you will lose at the bank.”
This is the preferred alternative to winning at the bank, but losing in court in a murder trial. Material possession may be regained. You don’t want to lose your freedom.
Very true.
there are some on this very thread who say that these men are racists ho’s intent always was to kill a black man (premeditated murder, not manslaughter), “policing” was just an excuse.
>>He who talks first gets the deal.
true, there are triggermen in driveby shootings who’ve walked on a murder charge while the driver got hard time

It appears Travis McMichael, Greg McMichael, and Bryan William were following, in 'hot pursuit', a burglary suspect, with solid firsthand probable cause, in their neighborhood, and asking/telling him to stop. It appears their intent was to stop and hold this criminal suspect until law enforcement arrived. Under Georgia Law this is perfectly legal,OCGA 17-4-60 A private person may arrest an offender if the offense is committed in his presence or within his immediate knowledge. If the offense is a felony and the offender is escaping or attempting to escape, a private person may arrest him upon reasonable and probable grounds of suspicion.
The pursers tried to prevent Arbery from running, there was three attempts
= = =
How did they try to stop him?
By asking?
By shouting stop?
By chasing him with a truck till he was exhausted (not to run over him I would hope)?
By physically grabbing him?
By shouting stop or we will shoot?
Well, he did not stop. What is left?
I have no idea what their position regarding black people is and I don't really care. If they were motivated by race then it's irrelevant; Georgia has no hate crime law. I don't think they set out to kill anyone. I think they decided it'd be fun to play vigilante and they screwed up. Now they're likely facing life in prison if convicted.
Probably so, if they are smart.
They should have Travis plead to manslaughter.

This is a sobering thought.
Even without ‘fun’ and ‘play’, but a serious attempt to uphold the law is hard to do without screwing up.
And the legal and financial consequences are significant, even for a correct execution (NO pun).
Much of which has been proven inaccurate by the video !
On the 911 call, McM says I dont know what street we are on
So he is clearly in a confused state of mind or is deliberately lying.
We do not yet have Roddys description as to what happened.
A. Is clearly running up Holmes street.
McM only mentions Burford.
Given their lat start - 1.5 minutes after A. Passes their house by the Video time stamp, I dont think they caught up with him until Zellwood/Holmes intersection.
I think the attempted block action happened at that intersection.
When A. Continued on his likely route for a 1 mile sprint, ie back down Holmes to his water source at the starting point (English House - someone said he went to the spots where there was water)
The McM zoomed past him, yelled at him as they passed, the lay in wait at the end of the street.
Roddy skillet stayed in the blocking position for a second, then moved up to keep A in sight.
Thanks.
I’m sure there is more info out there as well. The father is on a phone prior to pulling out his gun in the back of the truck. You can see him put down the phone to get his handgun ready. I don’t know if he was on the phone with 911 and the background sounds are recorded or if he was on the phone with the second vehicle.
You just want to argue. If a man intended to kill someone with a shotgun, he would have shot him dead the first shot.
The fact that three shots were fired is good proof that killing Arbery was not his intention.
Now you may not understand this, but most people can.
I know it's a complex concept, but most people can adequately grasp it. It's not rocket science.
