Comedian and podcast host Joe Rogan has signed a multiyear licensing deal with music streaming service Spotify reported to be worth more than $100 million to move his podcast exclusively to Spotifys platform.
Variety reports that Joe Rogan, popular comedian and host of the Joe Rogan Experience, has signed a deal with Spotify to move his podcast exclusively to the Spotify platform. The podcast will debut on Spotify on September 1 on a non-exclusive basis but will become exclusive to the Spotify platform later in the year under the multiyear licensing deal.
Rogans podcast currently ranks as the second most popular show on Apple Podcasts, after Barstool Sports Call Her Daddy whose hosts have been embroiled in an ongoing controversy. According to a source, Rogan was sold on the deal with Spotify after becoming confident in the platforms ability to build his audience worldwide.
Rogan wrote in an Instagram post: The podcast is moving to @spotify! It will remain FREE, and it will be the exact same show. Its just a licensing deal, so Spotify wont have any creative control over the show. They want me to just continue doing it the way Im doing it right now.
Rogan stated that clips of the show will continue to be shared on YouTube but full versions of the show will only be on Spotify after the end of the year. Im excited to have the support of the largest audio platform in the world and I hope you folks are there when we make the switch!

Eventually Joe will end up on BitChute.
It wasn’t a recommendation to follow the crowd. It was a statement of fact that he is a bigger influencer than any CNN or MSNBC talking head.
In April 2019, for instance, his podcast had 190 million downloads. I don’t think your point is valid.

He is a force no doubt. Even weirder he is a hunter.
I get it. Honestly, I listen to some of his interviews but I dont subscribe. The one with Leah Remini on what actually happens when you join Scientology was hilarious though.
I just became aware of him in the last 2 months. A pandemic makes a person surf the internet looking for new entertainment.
I listened to old podcasts, skipping over his comedian friends, playing the more interesting guests, politicians, scientists, media people etc....
He has an easy going interview style. He is always polite which is refreshing. However his love of drugs is off putting. He talks about it a bit too much.
Damn! Nice form. Lots of power.
No kidding, his form and execution are amazing. He’s a skilled ground fighter too.
He supported Bernie for Prez .
He's Bernie Sanders supporter.
A lot of Bernie Bros will be voting for Trump. They should be encouraged. Rogan is doing exactly this when he tells his millions of listeners that he's voting for Trump over Biden.
I don't understand that sentence.
What does the contract say about editorial control and content?
This could be a means to shut Rogan down.
Hes anti democrat thats for sure. He bashed them constantly. Plus, I think this is an American success story. Guy goes from host where he has people eat bugs for 50 grand to a business owner worth hundreds of million.
He backs Bernie
Reminds me of the Family Guy doing that to Lucy, as she holds the football.
Mr. Rogan is an American—his politics are to the left of mine, but he absolutely does not hate this country—Okay, so we disagree on somethings—big deal. He lets guests talk and will ask the obvious question that more times than not is never asked elsewhere. Good for Joe...$100 million cool ones
100+ million?
He ain’t worth a plug nickel to me.
While he is not a conservative, he is one of very few people in the media that will give a conservative an honest interview. He also is a very good proxy for the average independent voter.
I’m a podcaster, too, though my listeners are a few thousand, not in the millions. Where can I go to get a deal like Joe Rogan got?
