California Governor Gavin Newsom weighed in on the question of bailing out states whose budgets have been blown up by the coronavirus pandemic.
Newsom told CNN’s “State of the Union” that a state bailout was not “charity” and that Congress has a “moral and ethical obligation” to help Americans across the country.
The House passed a $3 trillion coronavirus relief bill last week which contained almost a trillion dollars to bail out states. It also contained goodies for all — another stimulus check, help for renters, college debt relief, and cash for illegal immigrants.
Fox News: “Not to act now is not only irresponsible in a humanitarian way, it is irresponsible because it’s only going to cost more,” warned House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. “More in terms of lives, livelihood, cost to the budget, cost to our democracy.”
Republicans mocked the bill as a bloated Democratic wish-list that was dead on arrival in the GOP-led Senate and, for good measure, faced a White House veto threat. At some point the nation has to say reap what you sew.
Using this logic...the remaining states with marginal debt issues might as well go for full-up wild spending, and double-up the pace of massive failure.
That’s his ultimate measure of success. Despite being a chronic and expensive failure, in the end he gets bailed out and all is forgiven, etc. Do this over and over and call it “failing up”. Don’t do it yourself though, because that’s what they do.

Newsome has an ethical Constitutional obligation to use all monies used on non citizens to balance his budget.
As long as he spends $0.01 on Sanctuary City and Sanctuary State policies and Welfare education housing medical etc etc expenses he should get no money from the feds...read taxpayers.
Turn over all illegals [20 + million] to ice for deportion.
That should bring in about half a trillion.
He can get the other half from Pelosi and Feinstein and his off shore accounts

Technically he’s correct that it’s not charity. Rather it’s a bailout of all the bad policies and decisions they’ve made embracing illegals, sanctuary cities, and otherwise reckless spending with COVID-19 used as cover. California is a drunk and fed dollars are the enabler.
I mean that for states that have failed to meet their obligations, they need to turn over their dependent registries to said committee of auditors. Said auditors can validate list, confirm recipients, then referred to FEMA type assistance.
Of course if those recipients are illegal aliens or dead people, they will be either deported or buried. Either way, removed from those roles.
Once the state is solvent again, they can take over their basic role in this area again, after compensating the people of the United States for the temporary assistance.
As soon as Cuomo pays the expenses for the ship that wasn’t needed, the medical facilities that we built but were never used and all the other stuff the Feds furnished but NY never used.
Fed is broke & printing money now, Gavin. But what’s another $1T in federal debt among ‘friends’, right?
This jackass will only give it to illegals while complaining we’re not looking after our veterans.
