France: Applying sovereignty will have consequences

The French government issued a strongly-worded statement Tuesday urging Israel not to apply sovereignty in Judea and Samaria.

The statement calls on Prime Minister Netanyahu and alternate Prime Minister Gantz not to "annex", as the move "will have significant implications for Israel's relations with the EU."

The French foreign ministry is aligning with the European foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, who is regarded as the most senior official in Europe who actively opposes the move.

"We support the announcement by EU Foreign Minister Borrrell that annexation would be in violation of international law, and would not proceed without implications for EU-Israel relations," the ministry's statement said.

You have to ask, if it isn’t anti-semitism, why does the EU care?

France let the people who live in Alsace-Lorriane vote.

If Israel let everyone in Judea and Samaria vote I don’t think they would like the result.

With all the Muslims rioting in Paris and throughout France, you would think Macron had nothing to do.

France created Zionism that lead to the State of Israel. Had it not been for the Dreyfus Affair, Zionism may not have had an impetus. That is debatable historically, what is not debatable is France's long history of antisemitism. So France is saying we will be more antisemitic if you do not do as we say.

Now there's a faceless bureaucrat from an unaccountable police state that should be held accountable and become actually faceless.

From the article: “...annexation of parts of occupied Palestinian Territories”.

Can somebody clarify that? Is Israel considering just an annexation of certain security areas or certain settlements? Or are they considering an annexation of all of Judea and Samaria?

And if it’s the latter, what happens to all the “Palestinians” living there? Would they eventually become voting Israeli citizens (a scary thought)?

Certain areas. Palis stay. IF they successfully apply for citizenship they can vote, as has been the case for those living in Jerusalem since 1948, and in the eastern sectors of Jerusalem liberated since 1967. Not many apply for citizenship. It’s an Arab honor thing.
