The governor, Gavin Newsom, announced in mid-April that the state would provide $75 million in cash assistance to the 150,000 who are selected. Philanthropic organizations and private donors pledged an additional $50 million, for another 100,000 immigrants.

Why the quotes around the first two words in the title? Quotes imply that there is doubt about their status.
They are aliens, and they are here illegally.
They are not undocumented if they are at the trough looking for money, and they are not immigrants because to be an immigrant, you must have legal status as such.
California is America at large. Vast debt and massive amounts of illegal aliens. Concentrations of wealth here and there, ruled by tech and special interest groups. Migration and massive .gov spending is the virus that destroys all.

That could very well be. I recall a report not too long ago, California had a $2 billion surplus.
Excuse my laziness, but my don’t give a damn level prevents me from actually looking it up. In my mind California has seceded from America by refusing to follow the law of the land. Giving illegals free money is evidence of that secession
