President Barack Obama’s Treasury Department regularly surveilled retired Army Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn’s financial records and transactions beginning in December 2015 and well into 2017, before, during and after when he served at the White House as President Donald Trump’s National Security Director, a former senior Treasury Department official, and veteran of the intelligence community, told the Star Newspapers.
“I started seeing things that were not correct, so I did my own little investigation, because I wanted to make sure what I was seeing was correct” she said. “You never want to draw attention to something if there is not anything there.”
The whistleblower said she only saw metadata, that is names and dates when the general’s financial records were accessed. “I never saw what they saw.”
By March 2016, the whistleblower said she and a colleague, who was detailed to Treasury from the intelligence community, became convinced that the surveillance of Flynn was not tied to legitimate criminal or national security concerns, but was straight-up political surveillance among other illegal activity occurring at Treasury.
“When I showed it to her, what she said, ‘Oh, sh%t!’ and I knew right then and there that I was right – this was some shady stuff,” the whistleblower said.
“It wasn’t just him,” the whistleblower said. “They were targeting other U.S. citizens, as well.”
Only two names are listed in the whistleblower’s official paperwork, so the others must remain sealed, she said. The second name is Paul J. Manafort Jr., the one-time chairman of Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
The other names include: Members of Congress, the most senior staffers on the 2016 Trump campaign and members of Trump’s family, she said.

Schiff and Schumer will demand that this whistle-blower’s identity be revealed to the public so that her veracity can be verified.
We can understand better now the pressure on the judge not to dismiss the case against Flynn. The number of people who are PERSONALLY liable for monetary damages for violating his rights must be huge.
Was there anybody in the federal government that wasn’t participating in this coup attempt? I can’t see how we can fix our Republic unless we fire every single federal employee from the heads of departments down to the janitors, permanently ban them from any future federal employment, close several departments completely, and start all over.

Why would someone transfer from CIA to treasury including the head investigator other than nefarious reasons.
Yes, term limits for elected officials is not enough. We must have term limits for employment by the federal gov’t....perhaps double the political limit of 12 years.
Elected officials should not be allowed to jump around from elected office to elected office to avoid being limited out. They should be restricted to 24 years of elected office.
Federal employees should be limited to 24 years working anywhere in the federal gov’t. Changing agencies does not reset the clock.
After 24 years, you are not eligible to work in gov’t. You must go to the private sector.
Yup. Find a loyal party member and move them into a position where they can serve the needs of the party.
If they get caught, they become a scapegoat.
Obama/Clinton put loyal party members into every corner of gov't so it would serve their agenda from behind the curtain.
Besides all the obvious reasons why Trump absolutely has to get reelected is to continue the corruption of the Obama Administration.
If Trump Administration keeps digging, I’m convinced we will all find out that the Obama Administration right from the beginning was using the surveillance capabilities of the FBI, CIA and other sources to dig up information on anyone they deemed a threat politically.
For example, I’ve always believed that Supreme Court Justice John Roberts was gotten to somehow in the Obamacare decision..I bet if you investigated John Roberts you will find he was looked into to find something that could be used to influence him..

Following 9/11 Treasury really went to work to track down the train of terrorist financing. It developed a superb office, and over time ‘listed’ hundreds of terrorists, terrorist financiers, and their fellow travellers. It appears that under Obamba the DOT began to branch out to play political games with Americans. For DOT to have sulled what was a fine reputation is very sad, but seems par for the course in all government Departments during Obama epoch.

It will only get good when Obama, Clapper, Hillary, Brennan, Strzok, Page, Rice, Holder, Lynch, Jarrett, Podesta, Feinstein, Pelosi, Schiff, Biden, McCabe, Powers, Comey, Weissmann, Mueller, Yates, and the rest of the coup plotters are in handcuffs and leg irons.

Actually, it's getting worse, because the likelihood that anyone will ever be held accountable for the massive abuse of power by Obama and his minions is very, very slim. It's getting slimmer by the day as our latest hope, Durham, drags his feet on his "investigation."
Yes, we already know that Obama/Clinton spying goes back to the 1990s with the FBI files on prominent Republicans.
It continued under Obama to include journalists, congressional representatives, etc.
It culminated in the surveillance on Trump, his family and his campaign.

The Treasury Department was under the DNC control. They blocked Tea Party organizations. They audited Conservatives. They communicated to states to audit conservatives. They audited Conservative donors. They spied on political opponents.
Total Weaponized Government, there was no Freedom, there is no Justice, the Constitution means nothing to Obama and the Democrats.
Pray that the DOJ actually does the right thing. If they get away with it, we will rapidly degrade and not resemble a Republic at all. Those that anticipate no prosecutions for these people need to consider that this will end up bringing bloodshed and death of Americans on an unfathomable scale. Yes, it’s inevitable.
