I suspect they have come out now, because they think there is a chance, now that the coup is being exposed, they can survive without retaliation.

If I’m reading the article correctly, the person in charge of whistleblowers for Treasury was a an Obama holdover; even the successor was an Obama acolyte...

They probably did long ago, but we are only hearing of this now. The floodgates of truth may very well be opening.
