Former Vice President and the presumptive 2020 Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is looking to expand the number of swing states in play in this Novembers election, targeting Republican-leaning states in his bid to unseat President Donald Trump.
Alongside traditional battleground states like Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, and New Hampshire the former three of which Trump won in 2016 the Biden presidential campaign believes it can bring traditionally reliable GOP states into play, like Texas, Georgia, and Arizona, which hold a combined 65 electoral votes, or nearly a quarter of the 270 needed to win the election.
Jen OMalley Dillon, a Biden campaign manager, told reporters Friday that the campaign would be focused both on winning back Democratic-leaning states which Trump flipped in 2016 like Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania as well as traditional battleground states like Florida, North Carolina, and Ohio.
But OMalley Dillon added that the campaign is also eyeing Republican strongholds like Texas, Georgia, and Arizona to broaden the electoral map in play.

Lions and Tigers and Bears..OH MY!
Trump will be elected in about the same amount of electoral votes he got last time.
People are NOT blaming him for what happened. They are blaming the Reds and the Democrats tied to the Red Chinese.
BTW, this economy will bounce back.
Question. Where do you get this belief about Arizona? Our state has voted Democrat for president exactly ONCE since 1948. The media runs their yammers constantly, but we have a Rino governor, a Rino legislature, and they won a senate seat because the Dems counted ballots for an extra week. The gal running was good looking and pretended to be a moderate. Now she’s Chucky’s stooge. And the media downplays the hell out of her Chucky votes.
That’s what it takes for a Democrat to win statewide in Arizona. Trump is very popular here. Take it to the bank.
‘Trump can still win if Joe wins PA, MI, and WI.’
he would win 270-268 if he takes ME-2 and NE-2...
Great caption.
‘Not without flipping states Hillary won. Which ones?’
he could hold ME-2 and NE-2 and win by 2 EV’s...
Joe Biden has the same chance for President as Joe Exotic had for Governor.
I was enjoying a good cup of coffee...not anymore.
You owe me a new monitor.
‘Where do you get this belief about Arizona?’
I have no ‘belief’ about AZ; I said maybe...I’m sure the dems thought MI, WI, and PA couldn’t go red in the same election...stuff happens...
We had our Democrat peak two years ago and they barely won a senate seat. But it wasn’t a presidential year, and we easily re-elected our GOP governor. My county has since declared itself a sanctuary county for firearms ownership, and the media is pimping Mark Kelly, the husband of fanatical leftist Gabrielle Giffords, to run for the senate. His number one issue is gun control in a state full of gun owners. He is a huge topic in the gun stores. At my favorite gun shop, a large picture of our president greets me as I enter.
We will do our part.
Good one! Lol
The Dems badly need him to win. Then all the corruption disappears and the Obama Legacy is safe.
We can’t let that happen. Even if they win all races, they will never win it all.
No Summer of Recovery. No Green Shoots ever with them
I wish he could poach a CO, NM, or NV.
Correct.
The usual playbook. Early on make the election look close and then near the finish line, forge as many ballots as required to win.
Joke has made it 2 weeks without accidentally soiling himself on camera.

I think they’ll medicate him and hope for the best while concentrating on 2024.
Trump isn’t losing any state he took in 16...
MI would be the ONLY state, that in a worst case scenario for Trump I could see possibly flipping, and that was before their Governor started acting like a jack booted thug...
I honestly see no states flipping, and expect MN to go Red in November as well, leaving only IL as the sole blue holdout in the upper midwest, thanks singularly to Chicago.
I think the governors of Michigan and Pennsylvania have really hurt the ‘Rats chances in those states. Same thing in Nevada and New Mexico. Trump may have a chance in New Mexico, with Gary Johnson not on the ballot there this year (he got almost 10% of the vote in NM, more votes than the difference between Hitlery and DJT).
I would think that Biden’s best chance to flip a state that DJT won last time is Arizona, because of all of the emigres from California and other high tax states that brought their ‘Rat politics with them. Plus, I just don’t think Martha McSally is a good candidate, and she’s running against Gabby Giffords’ husband. I hope this is not the case, but the Trump people can’t take Arizona for granted.
Unless Gov. DeWine screwed things up, I can’t see Biden coming close in Ohio. Wisconsin could easily go either way. I think DJT wins in Michigan and Pennsylvania because of the backlash against the sitting governors there.
I’m not sure about Minnesota, unless Ilhan Omar and Keith Ellison have turned off the suburban guilty white liberals to such an extent that they either vote for DJT or stay home.
He won Maine CD2 by about 37,000 votes. He only won Nebraska CD2 by about 6,000 votes.
Maine has a new voting system, which allows voters to indicate a second choice for an office; these votes are counted if no candidate gets 50%+1. This came into play in 2018, when Rep. Bruce Poliquin, the GOP candidate, was in first place after all the votes were counted, but only had something like 48%. The ‘Rat candidate, Jared Golden, had 45%, and the Greens and other minor parties got something like 7% in the aggregate. Almost all the voters for the Greens and the minor parties selected Golden as their second choice, and he won the election.
DJT got 51.2% of the vote in CD2 in 2016. If he gets below 50%, he probably loses the district.
You made a good point about New Mexico. I had forgotten about Gary Johnson. He probably was the difference.
I would invite you to read my earlier comments in the thread about Arizona. We have not moved behind Nevada and New Mexico in viability. The president was here last week or week before, and he won’t lose here.
Also, it’s McSally against a gun grabber. How do you vote? That’s our choice. Ducey won his first term by a landslide by using guns against his opponent. Mark Kelly is a zero charisma, bald headed gun grabber. The media will have to hide him down deeper than Biden.
And lastly, McSally’s ads begin, “Never believe a communist.” Not sure they could have run those in 1959.
