I don't know about a red wave but no blue wave for sure

On Tuesday night, I went to bed cheering the Wisconsin results but wondering if "ballot harvesting" would erase Mike Garcia's lead in California.

On Wednesday, we got the good news that the lead was just too big to steal.

Mike Garcia beat Christy Smith by double digits. In other words, a conservative GOP Hispanic candidate beat a very liberal Democrat in a district that went for Hillary by seven points in 2016.

So do we say hello to the red wave of 2020? I don't think so, but we do say be careful about buying into the anti-Trump wave of 2020.

In Wisconsin and California, the elections happened in the background of two media narratives:

First, Republicans are running away from President Trump because he is going down.

Both of these candidates attached themselves to the president and they did well.

Second, more people want to stay home rather than open the economy.

Well, the lockdown is clearly getting people angry. People want safety but they want to go to back to work. These elections show that people feel fully capable of doing both.

My point is that something is happening out there between New York and Los Angeles that these polls are not picking up. The country is angry and getting angrier with politicians who don't understand, for example, that Detroit is different than the rest of Michigan.

So what happened on Tuesday? I won't say that a red wave is coming, but I know that a blue wave is not happening for sure.

The paid Democrat political consultants, the guys who do politics for a living, just saw the canary keel over in the cage.

A wave of frantic calls to Democrat Governors is taking place. “You have got to get off the lockdowns or we’re SCROOOOOOOOOOD in November”.

It has limited significance as the turnout of older voters in the 65 area was very big and younger voters was extremely low.

They will have a rematch with these candidates in November. It will not be this lopsided win.

The California restrictions are getting Republican voters ginned up and ironically it makes the Democrat voters complacent, at least in this one instance.

November will be a different environment and California will very much be a pain in the ass with their Vote by Mail ballots littering the entire state.

We held the seat from 1990 to 2018. Lost it in 2018 and got it back in a special election. Not really a shock. Even democrats said they’d lose it. Wisconsin was an easy win replacing Sean Duffy in a deep red district. I’m glad we won but it wasn’t an earthquake.

A Republican just won a House seat in California by a larger margin than Democrats could possibly steal through ballot harvesting.

As I said, the consultant class is soiling it’s diapers this morning.

I did not know that. While special elections don’t really point to much, this result isn’t discouraging.

... a deep red district...

It is that and part of the reason we are in process of moving there.

But, the media insists on calling it “a reddening” District.

Keep using the Orwellian mainstream media newspeak and you'll get a "red wave" in California this November for sure. Isn't it interesting how all the FReepers who embrace the mainstream media's reassigned color scheme and screamed "VOTE RED!!!!" at the top of their lungs from the last election got exactly that... LOTS of "Reds" elected to government and now we have a Commie Red Speaker and tons of Marxist "Red" Governors.

And the biggest irony, the FReepers who HAPPILY follow the mainstream media's dictates on the color "red" are the ones who whine on other threads "we can't let the media define symbols for us!"

The District (WI-7) I referenced is rural, full of sportsman and retired/active military. It went 66%-68% for Trump in 2016. Directly south is one of the ultra-liberal towns in WI (Madison). WI has a prog, post-turtle Governor due to fraud. WI has a GOP legislature and Supreme Court and we lost a court seat due to more fraud and voter suppression based on the virus.

The colors have changed for so long now, it is not some self-fulfilling prophecy.

Right now claims Red and we have POTUS Trump. We have the Senate. Those elections were mostly won/lost on the issue of Trump/nationalism/The Constitution/America-as-founded. Population density played a role, as did Sanctuary status.

The MAGA merch is all red.

The calm, peaceful Blue is now adored by the left. They make sure to flaunt it. No one under 35 or so remembers when Republicans were Blue and none of them associate Red with communism.

The Blues love communism. The EU flag is blue. The UN flag is another shade of blue. The Blues make an exception for China (red flag) because China owns the globalist Blues & is fighting POTUS Trump). They make an exception in the opposite direction in hating Israel (blue & white). The Blues hate Russia (tri-color flag that is red, white and blue)mostly because they are also nationalistic & because they are Orthodox Christian). The old red flag of the Soviets is gone.

We are a divided nation. It is based on ideology, not representative colors. They vote for statists and globalists. We vote for individualists and nationalists.

Your concern is sort of old-school.

On Wednesday, we got the good news that the lead was just too big to steal.

There are a lot of republicans holding national office who disgust me. If we can primary them and replace them with patriots, I am all for that. Win or lose in the primaries though, we have to get every possible conservative vote to the polls in November. The most likely outcome is that President Trump wins reelection and we do well enough in the national elections to at least hold the Senate. That's worth fighting for, even if half of the GOP congressmen and Senators are spineless worms. At least they will be our spineless worms, doing barely enough to keep their cushy seats where they can steal a fortune.

The alternative is my worst nightmare. We all know why decent Americans have been buying guns and ammo in such large quantities since Obama stole our White House. Happy with our candidates or not, I do not want to see us fight our second civil war. We have to make sure that the November election is outside the socialist margin of fraud. If the globalists steal this one (and if the left claims a win, I will assume that the results in swing districts/states are based on fraud), I am afraid that things are going to get unspeakably ugly.

No, nothing is going to change with the youth vote. They are not excited about voting for Biden and will not vote. And many middle class Democrats who lost their business’s will vote GOP.

Expect that district to vote Trump in 2020. Remember all of the WI districts that had voted for Obama which flipped for Trump. We are going to see that in deep Blue States like Calif as well.

Don’t be ridiculous! It is a shorthand way of saying GOP or Democrat. You are straining at a gnat.
