Psychology, conflicting rules, misinformation and anxiety fueling bad behavior and violence, experts say
As a culture war rages across the nation over whether to wear protective masks, closer to home the battle is spilling over into store aisles and shopping center parking lots with alarming frequency and at times violent consequences.
Los Angeles police this week announced the arrest of two brothers who allegedly assaulted store employees and a security guard who attempted to escort them from a Target in Van Nuys for refusing to wear masks. ...

Immunity is not the only answer.
Unless flubro attitudes make it the only answer.

I think if a guy looks like that when wearing his mask, people will tend to stay at least six feet away from him without even trying! :-)

Your lack of understanding of nature fuels your fears. Mankind was around long before any of this and yet we survived. Are you not even curious of how that worked?
Humanities immune system has disarmed more viruses than you can even imagine. In fact, you are full of them, right now. And they were the weights your immune system lifted to become strong.
Isolate those vunerable? Sure, of course. But the rest of us, especially the children, need to get back out there. If we do not it will be much more detrimental in the long run.

All good points. But it’s not possible to reason with someone who doesn’t want to be reasoned with. Wallowing in fear makes him as comfy as a pair of flannel pajamas due to all the endorphins released.

Depends on the type of mask full face respirator with HEPA FILTERS will help common surgical mask helps you from being a latter day Typhoid Mary. Either way it helps.

Not really.
Unless people are wearing gloves and sterilizing their masks it is not helping and may be causing harm. Certainly the fact that the mask impedes your breathing is not at all helpful.

And by not wearing a mask, you're potentially helping spread the disease. Which will give "them" the pretense to extend regulations and shut downs.
Wear the mask, Stop the disease. Get our country back to normal. Then masks come off.
I've seen enough of your comments to know that using any rational argument with you is a waste of time, but...
You are presenting two ideas which are in direct contrast with each other. If we "stop" the disease from spreading, we will literally NEVER be able to go back to normal, because any attempt will resume the spreading. But even under the misguided idea that we should "stop" the spreading via lockdown, we still have many new cases daily. This is because stopping a coronavirus is impossible. Therefore, any policy which is dependent upon "stopping" the spread is, by definition, a failure.
The stated objective was initially "flatten the curve", which meant to keep the number of new infections which require hospitalization down to a level below what our healthcare system could handle. But that motto ALWAYS implied that there remained an area under the curve, which is to say, that a rate of spread of the virus remained, but that the goal was to keep it manageable.
Now, you, and all the like-minded totalitarians, including many state governors, are claiming that failing to use masks can increase the spread and result in prolonging the lockdowns BUT THIS IS THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT IS TRUE. If the virus spread to every person in this country tomorrow, the lockdown could also end tomorrow, because there would no point in having a lockdown anymore. The faster the bulk of the population is infected, the less reason there is for a lockdown. Having the lowest-risk groups exposed to the virus sooner rather than later actually helps achieve the coveted herd immunity and lessens the value of a lockdown, YET THE OPPOSITE IDEA IS BEING PUSHED.
Simple logic is not in play at all in our current policy regarding this Chinese virus.

youd think by now I wouldve learned...... the pjs shouldve been a dead giveaway lol.
secretly I hope others read my posts and are driven to read up on the science behind viruses, their movement through humanity, and the weapons our bodies have to combat such things.
Our immune system is a beautiful work of art. How great is it that the very virus that is there to hurt us actually becomes the catalyst for its removal from humanity. Genius, absolute genius.

That's a highly interesting chart. I do have to wonder whether the # of positive COVID-19 cases represents the level of testing as much as, or more than, the actual level of infection. It's the familiar "unreliable denominator" problem.
I would also put a big pair of parentheses around any statistics coming out of China or WHO ---which arguably functions as a Press Release distributor for China --- as non-verifiable.
I am not just tossing aside your information. Not at all. I am thinking about it, and I appreciate that you supplied it. Just voicing some of my musings out loud.
Where did you get the chart? Do you have a link?

I like the way you think.
I am beyond tired of the virtue signaling, tyrannical “Karens” who believe it’s their job to control other people.
I’m also to the point that I wish it were legal to punch anyone who uttered the Communist slogans “Social Distancing” and “The New Normal”.
There is no “New Normal”. I’m living my life just as I always have.
The Communist libtards and the Karens (same thing) can pound sand.

Did it ever cross your mind that not everyone can breathe in masks?
A few days ago,my elderly mother badgered me into wearing one in Walmart. I reluctantly agreed, which is ridiculous because I don’t catch viruses.
I do have a congenital heart defect. It’s not as bad as it used to be, since I underwent surgery on it several years ago, but it still gives me trouble at times.
I walked in Walmart, feeling foolish with the ridiculous mask which, ironically, was made in China. It wasn’t long before I became weak, couldn’t breathe very well, my fitbit showed my heart rate at 130 and I began to see White.
I’m different then most people. Most people see black when they pass out, but I see white when I pass out. I had to sit down for a few minutes before I made my way out of there, sans mask.
Never again. Thankfully, masks aren’t required in my town, except for Walmart and Tractor Supply employees.
