The mayor of LA has sent a terrifying warning to Angelinos that 'LA will never be completely open until we have a cure', one day after the county health director extended its lockdown by three months. Mayor Eric Garcetti gave a rambling interview with Good Morning America Wednesday in which he attempted to play down the lockdown extension through to August but sparked yet further confusion among angry residents over when it will reopen. Garcetti backpedaled on comments made by LA County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer on Tuesday. She had said stay-at-home orders in LA will 'with all certainty' be extended for the next three months. He said all she had meant was for people to 'cover our faces, physically distance and that you're safest working from and staying at home'.

A good buddy of mine from college I still keep in frequent touch with is saying LA residents are in lockdown burnout. Their patience is at an end and they’re going out and having backyard BBQs, dinners together, trying to live life.
That these leftists think they can get away with this and that Garcetti hasn’t already had to walk it back...I don’t know....
and we’ve been working on a cure for AIDS for how long?
They can get back to normal in LA the day after they depose their tyrant mayor. . . I think folks are going to start getting rough on politicians . . . long overdue.

I’ve got news for him.
The mayor, the governor the county “Public Health Director” will not determine when LA or California get back to work.
That decision lies with the American consumer and the local businesses that serve that consumer.
Movie theaters could open today, and they’d operate at a loss, as not enough customers would go. Probably the same for indoor dining at restaurants. I was rolling around yesterday working my night job, and it’s already happening. People are removing the “closed” tape from outdoor tables, park benches etc. and beginning to get their lives back on line.
The people of LA should at least get a kiss while they get screwed.
Well, one cure COULD be firing him.
I’m in a CA county still under the strictest of lockdowns and after 40 days of quarantine (the very definition of quarantine) I gave up and now also have backyard BBQs, let my kids go to their friends’ house if the other parents are OK with it (they all seem to be), etc.
We have a whole underground society now. It’s switched from the public sphere of dog parks and bars to the private sphere of our backyards.
