Trump’s vicious claim that Trump’s vicious claim that Joe Scarborough might have murdered an aide might have murdered an aide (barf alert)
Washington Post ^ | May 12th 2020 | Salvador Rizzo

"When will they open a Cold Case on the Psycho Joe Scarborough matter in Florida. Did he get away with murder? Some people think so. Why did he leave Congress so quietly and quickly? Isn't it obvious? What's happening now? A total nut job!"

- President Trump, in a tweet, May 12, 2020

- - -

The sun had not been up for an hour when the president of the United States, in his ninth tweet of the day, said MSNBC anchor Joe Scarborough might be a murderer.

It's an old claim, debunked by The Washington Post in 2017. Trump often smears those who challenge him. He has a long-running feud with the "Morning Joe" husband-and-wife team of Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.

Yet it remains astounding to see the president make a thinly veiled murder accusation devoid of evidence. Many of the 18,000 false and misleading claims in our Trump database feature overheated rhetoric. Few of them rise to these vicious heights.

- - -

"Morning Joe" airs on MSNBC from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. ET on weekdays. The hosts have been hammering the administration's dysfunction in the face of the covid-19 pandemic, with Scarborough often taking Trump to task for "a blizzard of lies."

This morning, the hosts also zeroed in on Trump's contentious exchange with a CBS News reporter at a news conference on Monday. Brzezinski and Scarborough both called Trump's remarks "racist." They ran a segment criticizing the Justice Department's unusual move to drop the criminal case against Michael Flynn, a former Trump national security adviser who pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI. They interviewed Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, who said of Trump: "He can't handle women, particularly strong women, and we know that Trump is xenophobic, and it comes out time and again."

Murdering an aide is pretty viscious. Wonder who did it. Post doesn’t wonder.

Trump has got to be increasingly convinced that this country is so screwed without his leadership.

“It’s an old claim, debunked by The Washington Post in 2017”

That’s like saying the Tate-LaBianca murders were debunked by Charlie Manson.

“something happened to Seth Rich too.”

Rush was talking about the DNC computer hack. Wondered if he would elude to Seth but didn’t come close other then to say we know the download was on site. Not a Russian hack.

“Many of the 18,000 false and misleading claims in our Trump database feature overheated rhetoric.”

Sorry, 18,000 database entries, or 18 trillion, for that matter, add up to exactly zero significance when they’re entered by an organization with zero credibility.

Also, how do you quantify “overheated rhetoric”. Isn’t that in the eye of the beholder? I thought that this was a “news” service, and that this article was a “fact check”.

I don’t remember. Did Scarborough ever search for the real killer?

Trump never makes allegations of this nature that he doesn’t know to be true. Remember back in 2017 when he first brought up being spied upon by Obama and the media ridiculed him for it? Sure. Trump engages in hyperbole, but on serious allegations like this, he would never bring it up if he didn’t know it to be true. Being President of the United States makes you privy to information that can confirm what most have only suspected all these years about Morning Joe and his intern.

Yes, we must accept any "debunking" that the Washington Post reports, because we all know they wouldn't feed us disinformation about anything political, right?

Wait wait wait...the same Washington Post that had been actively (and still is) collaborating with corrupt politicians plotting to take down an elected President?

So, we are supposed to take their word for it?

So they can dish out vicious allegations at Trump but they can’t take it when he gives it back.
