The Georgia man who filmed the shooting death of unarmed black jogger Ahmaud Arbery says he’s “not proud” he did so — but he hopes it “helps in the end.”

William “Roddie” Bryan, whose cell phone footage of the Feb. 23 incident sparked national outrage, told Good Morning America he has “tons of regrets” over the incident.

“Yeah, I wish I hadn’t been there,” Bryan told the ABC-TV show Tuesday.

Did anyone happen to film the sniper murder of the old white couple in the Delaware national cemetery by the black dude? Oh, didn’t hear about it or forgot it already?

You obviously don’t have a grasp on when self defense would begin or more likely are pushing a flawed premise for agenda purposes. The shooter had a legal right under Georgia Law to carry a loaded shotgun in public. That means he could follow anyone he wants in any way he wants with a shotgun without breaking a law. Whether he acted in self defense is determined by what happened in the confrontation. If the dead man tried to take the gun then he was the aggressor and self defense will be valid.
NOTE the outcome may be different in a different state that does not allow for legal open carry of a shotgun

Just to play devil’s advocate here:

Say I am a completely innocent person and am jogging down my street and there is a truck parked in the way so I jog around it...when I get to the front of the truck you stick a shotgun in my face and tell me to stop. I now feel threatened and in fear for my life so I grab for the gun. You shoot and kill me.

Who if anyone broke the law?

‘It will help, in the end, to result in a successful self-defense verdict.’

depends on what counts are brought against them; self defense isn’t going to pertain to a reckless conduct charge; these two had to know that their actions of tracking the guy down, and then emerging from the car with a drawn gun, could result in the tragedy that did result...as a matter of fact, the charge could easily be upped to ‘aggravated assault’ which is the act of placing another person in reasonable apprehension of immediately receiving a violent injury by using a deadly weapon, in which case a stacked charge of possession of a firearm while committing a crime is usually appended...

these two could be looking at a rather lengthy prison term...

Heavy’s got a really clear video and interesting comments....I’d love to hear why Bryan (shooting the video) isn’t also consider suspect in this case....his vehicle is all over the road for someone just happening onto this.

It is an absolute OUTRAGE that these savages are pressuring the prosecutor to charge this guy. Quite frankly, its an outrage that any of these men are being charged. While I could see a tiny argument for the guy with the shotgun, how in the blank do you charge the dad with murder? And this guy? You follow a burglary suspect who decides to charge at some guy and you could get charged with murder?

does that also apply to ‘confront’...?

Who if anyone broke the law?

I suppose the trial will determine that.

...”these two could be looking at a rather lengthy prison term”.....

Looks like that could happen. I have to say the jogger didn’t look like he was running away but jogging right along.

At any rate this played out really bad for everyone there. Especially the young man who’s life just got suffed out.

McMichaels, Sr, said this guy helped try to cut the guy off with his car, in his statement to the police.

Perhaps because he didn’t break any laws? This is absurd. This man was trying to film a burglary suspect. He is being threatened with prosecution. Savages.

Your assuming he did point the gun at his face. They are obscured by the truck at this time. He was carrying the shotgun at what appeared to be the low ready as he went to cut Arbery off at the passenger side of the truck. If he is at the low ready and Arbery grabs the gun his first reaction would be to bring it up.Then if Arbery pulls on the gun, he effectively shoots himself. The second DA on this case pointed that out in his letter to the police captain about why he was not charging the McMichaels.

Too bad he didn’t shoot a film that allowed one to form a firm opinion either in favor of a murder charge or a “justifiable homicide” declaration.

I don’t know what the guy was thinking, but I thought it REALLY odd that he didn’t say a word when they started shooting. ou can hear the gunfire and even the muffled shouting by the father and son.

This guy didn’t say a word. No surprise, no exclamation, nothing. That doesn’t prove anything, but that is EXTREMELY odd.

How did he know the guy was a burglary suspect when he was in his front yard working before he got into his car to follow?

It’s clear from the footage that the taker of said video was in on it.

No one films driving like this with some random guy running down the street. He turned the lens on purpose. He was filming because he was asked to film as he drive to the scene and then boxed the victim in. Every twitch in a recording tells a tale and this was taken by someone who knew full well what was going on.

Racism exists, folks. On both sides. From an equal number of people and for the same reasons.

While I haven’t been talking a lot lately, I am reading and thinking. I’m rarely near a keyboard and swiping concentrated thoughts on a phone is tough. But I’ve been in Bentonville Arkansas and can tell you about my time in one of the most racist areas I’ve ever lived.

I’m a white guy and I get the hairy eyeball from the Indians in the indian neighborhoods (Of which most of Bentonville is courtesy of Walmart). I’ve been pushed to the back of lines, had backs turned on me in public places and watched every single time (!) mothers pull their kids out of play areas when my daughter shows up. I do Uber and have been learning Hindi and the like - and I know a bit of the plain-spoken insults they trade me and my daughter.

Racism exists and it’s getting dangerous. I see nothing about these guys that is defensible.
