Compared to most libs today, Willie is downright sane.
I got a feeling even governor moonbeam would agree with him.

Jerry Brown was an idiot.
Now, PAT BROWN wasn't. The mother must have been a "flower child" who just had too much LSD.

Don’t ask the rest of the country to bail them out.

I doubt if it could.

Google
California's economy has surpassed that of the United Kingdom to become the world's fifth largest, according to new federal data made public Friday. California's gross domestic product rose by $127 billion from 2016 to 2017, surpassing $2.7 trillion, the data said. [2018]

“Jerry Brown was an idiot.”

I agree. My only point is that compared to today’s cast of idiots, he may actually appear somewhat sane.

Very well put. Doesn’t matter who says it, “All truth is God’s truth.”

People do what they want to do.

Then they make up talking points to justify what they already want to do.

I don’t believe anybody who has a vested interest in this thing—one way or the other.

its what I've been saying for many weeks...those with govt jobs receiving full paychecks while at home or those with fat govt pensions couldn't care less about everyone else....

staying home is just fine with them....

we're okay here...I'm essential so I work my 24hrs a week....husband is retired...

but I grieve for our small businesses who will never see the light of day...

I grieve for my brother who has lost so much of his business because schools are closed...

I grieve for my country that has given up so much freedom WILLINGLY....

there will be consequences, even for those govt workers...

Man, I didn’t even know that word could be used as an adjective.

Yes, but we all immediately knew what it meant - LOL!

When you have almost ALL of the people that make decisions earn a check while working from home, the result is a cowardly ‘stop everything that might cause this thing to catch up to me’ - thus shut down all small businesses as though they don’t matter much.

How convenient for them. However, it’s economic discrimination. Telling millions of small business owners that they’re not essential is convenient for anyone that isn’t a small business owner. The government is picking winners and losers. To each and every small business owner it is absolutely essential for them and their families, who the h*ll is government to tell them they’re not. It certainly isn’t selfish!

It was one thing when we didn’t know anything about this virus - we thought it would kill everyone equally and be more virulent than it apparently is. So why are we following the same game plan as 8 weeks ago? Second, I don’t believe ‘emergency powers’ should have this level of authority over a virus. It’s too subjective. There’s no well defined metrics for what should constitute enacting ‘emergency powers’ nor what thresholds for each metric that should be met. It should only have been an ‘emergency health advisory’. No draconian ‘orders’ or ‘lists’ from a single person that puts the power of the State on the throats of citizens. It’s not ‘science’ either. Everything about the ‘science’ has been wrong.

Now we have cops being used as tools of the State to enforce ‘orders’ from, by definition, a dictator. Do they realize what this is going to do to our support for them? They seem to have forgotten that our rights are also a contract. We recognize your authority so long as you recognize our rights. The second the authorities demonstrate they’ve changed the contract without permission then it’s a breach of contract, we no longer should recognize their authority.

What is interesting, these same people making such decisions, are realizing how these ‘non-essential small businesses’ contribute to their tax base - which it is being destroyed. All of a sudden there’s the realization that many of these work-from-home public jobs are at risk. They won’t be able to pay for them.

So of course, this all ends up being about those with money doing what is perceived to be in their best interests. The second they see how it’ll impact more than the small businesses they suddenly change their tune...it’s not about the virus or ‘science’. It’s about money and power - and they’re going to lose both.

Watch what you say, Willie. Kamala might cut you off. In more ways than one.

Brown has been running a stream of anti state party line over the past six or so months. No idea why but he was usually on the winning side in almost all controversies in that state going back many years. Either as an old guy he is now finding he is on the outside looking in or he got religion. Hard to know but he was one of the most radical leftist politicians in the country not that long ago.

True...although Sweden did not engage in zero mitigation efforts - the total lockdowns in those other countries came after doing nothing for too long.

“We suspend pay.. (of politicians).”

Most of them are already rich from the lucre they have gotten as bought and paid for representatives of private firms and political operations.

I have a friend in South Dakota and family in Michigan. South Dakota is a very decent state. Michigan, well... they're in the UP, so they get kind of ignored, which is good when your Governor is Stalin in a dress. I'll stop a while in SD and see how things play out.

The left wants it to go on, until we are all out of work and collecting checks from a bankrupt government.
