In WA state, the nursing homes were quick to get hit, yet it seemed to diminish quickly too. I don’t recall hearing news from WA in a while now. Just curious.

Seems the seniors locked down inside nursing homes are having a tougher time versus seniors living in “The Villages”

I have never visited a Villages facility, I thought they had different levels of freedom of movement (some you can live there and drive for the day, others might be full blown ALF (assisted living facility)).
My impression of these nursing homes in NY State is they are not “come and go as you please”, they are mostly dormitory, or a few to a room, or ALF but not waltz in and out as you please.

Many have mentioned that Cuomo failed to send infected nursing home patients to the Javits Center. Instead he returned these patients to their nursing homes where they infected many other patients.
Well, there were also many 5 star hotels that were empty. The infected nursing home patients could have been sent to the Waldorf Astoria and not back to a nursing home.
Instead, what do Democrat politicians do? Well, in San Francisco they put homeless addicts in their hotels that are empty.

Cuomo is an inept flake. He is personally responsible for the deaths of thousands when he outlawed the use of HCQ and Zinc and when he put infected patients in retirement homes. Javits Center and the hospital ship were virtually empty and were staffed to accept thousands of patients.
The governor has no one to rely on. All his close and even not so close advisors are political hacks that are totally incompetent to deal with the covid epidemic.
The deaths in New York result from dithering and panic judgements made with political overtones rather than sound medical guidance. Political judgements overrode outside medical judgements
Don’t forget to pay attention later as some N.Y. Democrat crows about reduced elder care costs in the State ... purposefully not connecting the dots of course.
