Yep, rob the “rich”, meaning people who make 121,000 a year, and give it to the poor, who vote democrat.

If we are going to start doing universal income, give it to everybody, and then if you want, justify raising taxes on the rich to pay for it.

The math on this is hard to comprehend.

Let’s say they are going to give 200M Americans $2000/mo.

That’s 400 Billion per month?

If it lasts six months, that’s 2.4 Trillion?

I meant to say, that once things reopen, these benefits should stop immediately. The gravy train come to a creaking, whistling halt.

>>That number would expand to $4,000 to married couples who file jointly, as well as add an extra $2,000 for each dependent child, up to three children.

4,000+6,000 with 3 kids. so $10,000 a month on top of whatever income or unemployment you DO have?

Retroactive back to March? It’s May. Hand out $6,000 in the first check? Why not buy everyone a new car? Big screen TV? Publishers Clearing House jackpots for everyone!

After my wife died, I dated a girl for a while who lived on a part-time walmart salary, about $15k a year. She rented a basement room in a house for around $500 a month, and her life was that room, and she had use of the kitchen and bathroom.

She had an expensive phone, and had yearly passes to theme parks, and got her nails and hair done, and managed to scrape by, didn’t have health insurance until Walmart started providing it, so she had some outstanding medical bills.

It was pretty amazing how you can live on so little money, when I can’t seem to make my paycheck work. :)

Can the machines even print money this fast?

Zimbabwe figured out how to do that, I don't see why we can't.

(Hint: it takes just as long to print a one billion dollar bill as it does to print a one dollar bill.)

“Seems to me that $5,000 a month would be better. Or 10. Or even more. What could possibly go wrong?“

If only Bloomberg had spent his money on the people, instead of ads, we would all be millionaires! ;-)

”You really think they would stop at $24,000 a year? Ever seen a government program that was cut?”

That’s the real purpose behind every liberal government handout; to create a voting bloc of addicts who will forever vote for dems to keep the financial crack flowing.

$2000 a month means most people won’t bother going back to work.

Two grand a month won't even get a respectable meth head out of bed in the morning.

Kill the rich! Kill the not so rich too!

Hand over the cash, pull up your mask---OR DIE!

There’s a proposal to do that with $15k a year, a universal basic income; As I get older and look at the alternatives, I think it has some merit relative to the quagmire of federal and state welfare that seems designed for fraud, and to keep people fromm getting money unless they are connected or pay the right people to help them.

The pandemic should be winding down, this seems to encourage staying shut up. Bad idea from the wicked Democrats/globalists.

Who will pay for this crap?
