President Trump may have an answer to the question, Wheres the Beef?
As the coronavirus pandemic rips through meat-processing plants, forcing several to temporarily close, there have been reports of a looming meat shortage for United States consumers. The lack of beefy inventory is also being felt by fast-food chains throughout North America.
Among those affected is Wendys, the home of the square burgers, as they have reportedly removed hamburgers as an option at 18 percent of store locations across the nation, according to a restaurant anaylst.

I give you my word as PRESIDENT! He’ll fix the problems with all the dead crops. He’s gonna make ‘em GROW again! And that ain’t all. I give you my word! He’s gonna fix the dust storms too. Hah! And I give you my word! He’s gonna fix-x-x-x-x-x-x the economy. And he’s so smart! Hah! He’s gonna do it all, hah, in one week.
Im 58 and know exactly what youre going thru!!
Nothing wrong with supporting drive through restaurants and delivery options in this time. Laziness has nothing to do with it.
Amen. Absolutely heroic.
In my 70s I figured out what to quit not doctors. I quit those things that give pain....trial and error. (Quit smoking 40+ years ago because I couldnt climb the hills while deer hunting without huffing and puffing)
McD didnt have a problem.
And the meat Trump promises will come from where exactly?
I agree. Sometimes you just want a cheap, fast snack. Besides those workers are working. They arent getting unemployment.
The shortage is of different natures in different areas. If the covid pandemic keeps shutting down processing plants due to employees falling ill of the virus, then the shortages will become more universal in the US. The meat hitting the fan,so to speak.
Some places are already limiting meat purchases - so it doesn’t all disappear along with the TP & other paper goods, cleaning supplies and such.
Dont shop at Aldi, but had no problem getting beef and chicken at my grocery store.
I’m making meatloaf, mashed potatoes and peas for dinner tonight.
I did see can only buy 2 of same items. Its a good idea.
We are running out here in LA.
This would never happened under the watch of Dave Thomas.
Not anything Im into. Express pain with wheat, dairy, msg, nitrates. Developed in my old age. I love all the stuff I cant eat.
Extreme pain not express Autocorrect again.
I’m in LA!

One of those things where you keep an eye on it.
I was follwing the epidemic in China and it’s first few cases here. Seeing what was coming I scored all the TP needed for awhile a few weeks before the sudden hoarding craze made it rare.
There was some couple in Canada that loaded up 2 shopping carts with meat - cleaned out the entire counter - at a store awhile back and became widely hated for it.

Lol!
I have enough tp for 9 months. Only because 20 pack rolls were on sale with coupon early on. 2 minimum. But hording meat is awful. Ru8ch people visiting Hamptons were doing that and leaving nothing for locals.
Yeah, if you have an idea something might be upcoming you don’t wanna be the last person who decides to do something about it.
Just common sense planning avoids both panic-buying and getting price-gouged.
