Schumer, Pelosi set to unveil 'Rooseveltian' relief package
The Hill ^ | 05 07 2020 | Alexander Bolton

Senate Democratic Leader Charles Schumer (N.Y.) said Thursday that he and Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will soon unveil a coronavirus relief package that he described as “Rooseveltian” in its scope and size.

“We need big, bold action," Schumer said in an MSNBC interview with Stephanie Ruhle, adding that he and Pelosi "are working very closely together on putting together a very strong plan, which you will hear shortly.”

“We need Franklin Rooseveltian-type action and we hope to take that in the House and Senate in a very big and bold way,” he added.

Schumer's remarks came in response to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-Ky.) statement earlier this week that Congress needs to take “a pause” before passing more pandemic relief legislation.

Congress has passed nearly $3 trillion in aid over the past two months.

Schumer on Thursday said the fiscally cautious approach now being taken by Republicans like McConnell and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (Calif.) reminded him of President Hoover’s response to the 1929 stock market crash and the onset of the Great Depression.

"The Republicans would never vote for this kind of spending."

However I am sure eight or more Rinos in the Senate would.

Printing more funny money. Look out for hyper-inflation like Germany in the ‘20s.

No Nancy, what we need is another Civil War to get rid of Communists like yourself.

Partner, I think Pelousy knows that we have caught on that she is 80 years old and she is suffering from Alzheimer's and Dementia. She is nuts after the sham trial put on by none other than "Schiff for Brains" who is so also nuts.

The folks in California deserve better than these two (2).

So... almost 90 years after the USS Constitution sprang a leak, during which she’s continued to list to the left, the treetards are ready to scuttle her and send her to the bottom.

Knock yourself out, bitches. You shoulda waited 20 years or so. By then all the Zinnfiltrated youngsters of today will have come into power.

By springing this crapola on us now, they just intensify their Nov. losses.

If you thought the Republicans controlling the presidency and one house of Congress was important before this virus, it’s even more so now. If the Dems increase their lead in the House or God-forbid take the Senate, this country is in for it. Vote.

After November, there might not be enough Republican votes to stop it. It might require a full out war to stop it then. The Left is on the march, they won’t stop until they are stopped by force...and as we sit here today, there are so many people approaching the end of the tether financially that they would take anything to keep themselves afloat - even communism with a smiling face.

Roosevelt's 1944 SOTU speech called for a new bill of rights in order to achieve, "a decent standard of living for all individual men and women and children in all Nations."

"The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines of the Nation;

The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation;

The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return which will give him and his family a decent living;

The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad;

The right of every family to a decent home;

The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health;

The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment;

The right to a good education.

All of these rights spell security. And after this war is won we must be prepared to move forward, in the implementation of these rights, to new goals of human happiness and well-being."

All of these would derive from, "A realistic tax law—which will tax all unreasonable profits, both individual and corporate,and reduce the ultimate cost of the war to our sons and daughters"

Every FReedom loving American should see their policies are regurgitated socialism

Say what you want. Roosevelt’s New Deal didn’t work. WWII worked.

No worries.

The temporary FDR New Deal programs and mandates were only used during the crisis in the 1930s. Today we don’t have to continuously live under their burden except for welfare programs, Social Security and trillions of dollars more in other ongoing programs and hundreds of thousands of onerous regulations on business and commerce. Plus the precedent of “only the government can solve any problem, not individuals”. That’s all./s

It’s for political consumption. They know it isn’t going to pass but they want to say “you’re suffering because the Republicans voted down our aid package.”

More like Hoover. Big spending that makes the problem worse. Roosevelt just continued the process, extending a normal correction into a decade lone depression.

To Shoomer, spending $3 Trillion we don’t have is “fiscally cautious.” This man isn’t stupid. He’s evil.

If Trump loses in November the Republic is over, period.

Once both Parties (with a majority of Americans supporting it) gleefully passed the $2.2 TRILLION DOLLAR Kung Flu Bill the Die was Cast.

They already passed additional Bills costing another Trillion or so, (I’ve lost count) not to mention the Trillions of Dollars the Federal Reserve has thrown into the Markets to prop it up.

It’s like an out of control Freight Train barreling down the Track and nobody can stop it.

To think that I grew up being told the Soviet Union would lead to our demise. Talk about a head fake.
