What did President Trump say? Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office of the White House on Wednesday, Mr Trump said: "We went through the worst attack we've ever had on our country, this is worst attack we've ever had.
"This is worse than Pearl Harbor, this is worse than the World Trade Center. There's never been an attack like this.
"And it should have never happened. Could've been stopped at the source. Could've been stopped in China. It should've been stopped right at the source. And it wasn't."
Asked later by a reporter if he saw the pandemic as an actual act of war, Mr Trump indicated the outbreak was America's foe, rather than China.
"I view the invisible enemy [coronavirus] as a war," he said. "I don't like how it got here, because it could have been stopped, but no, I view the invisible enemy like a war."

If it’s worse than Pearl Harbor then we need to have a Doolittle raid on China.
Trumps statements here were perfect, spot on. By invoking Pearl Harbor he emphasized the magnitude of the damage done by the virus. And he didnt shy away from mentioning China.
(I kinda wish hed say Red China instead of just China, but I suppose thats a diplomatic thing.)
Shutting down our own economy was the “worst atrack!” And we did it to ourselves!
Was gonna say, essentially he said we’re at war.
Just one man’ opinion; I wish the President would not compare Covid-19 with Pearl Harbor and 9/11. They are all monumental historic attacks.
When he says "invisible enemy" he doesn't mean coronavirus.
Pearl Harbor was a sneak attack on the unsuspecting in which a little over 2000 were killed.. Although China who singularly knew of the outbreak in Wuhan and would not allow Wuhan residents to travel to the rest of China, the sneak attack by the Chinese government was to unleash their Wuhan carriers on the rest of the unsuspecting world by letting them carry their virus to other countries and deliver over 200,000 deaths globally. In that respect, the similarities are compelling. Only a lot more severe when if came to deaths and global economic destruction they have wrought.
I agree with you. But a lot of folks on this discussion board don’t think this is a big deal, hack up Trump’s own team of medical professionals and on and on.
This is an attack, responding to it is coming when we get on our feet
He is right as I and many others have said this too.
Yup, you have the correct interpretation.
Trumps statements here were perfect, spot on. By invoking Pearl Harbor he emphasized the magnitude of the damage done by the virus. And he didnt shy away from mentioning China.
...
I agree. He took it as far as he could.
I expect that he’s laying the groundwork to hold China accountable.
I love it when Trump picks up one of my metaphors. Been using the Pearl Harbor analogy for some time now.
Gonna run his campaign against China as much as the Democrats.
and the Democraps are Quislings
This statement is a direct response to Democrats and their media propagandists who have been comparing our COVID-19 death toll to the Vietnam War.
Very astute AC, I hadnt made that correlation yet but its a good one, and probably did play a part.
What only became clear after ostensibly well-meaning countermeasures were foisted upon us by people like Tony Fauci, who has a hidden past of traitorous activities, is that our information, from the likes of Fauci and the Chinese was completely tainted and ruinous of Americans in many ways. As the seditious media quickly and emphatically pressed, PDJT is not a doctor and should swallow whole media heroes Fauci's and Brix's pronouncements, even as they differed from the US Surgeon General.
Both Fauci and his friends and China (repeating myself in part) must be countered and made to pay!
Arresting Fauci will be part of a good and necessary start.
In the meantime, anyone that hasn't seen the Plandemic Documentary, an interview with Dr. Mikovits needs to do so before it disappears (again).
Trump is right, you are wrong. SEVENTY-TWO THOUSAND dead Americans and still increasing. Pearl Harbor and 9/11 were pittances by comparison.
