in m case- i was eating 2-3 clove segments a day (not the whole bulb of garlic)- I don’t know about wild garlic though- that might be something different- probably in same line- I had a landlady who would eat a whole bulb of garlic a day- she ate it for years- she was fine- developing an allergy probably isn’t common- but can happen

At this point the shear numbers are with the stay at homes. Plus a lot of these are apartment building dwellers, sharing the air, elevators, hallways, etc., with their infected neighbors—if not with their own household members as well.
agree....people’s opinions on the lockdown are directly related to how much money they get in their govt check or fat pension.....those people could care less about millions out of work, out of hope....

Your theory is reasonable. A multitude of possible transmission means exist in the big city. Garbage chute handles, stairwell handles, elevator buttons, shared laundry facilities, etc., and those means are solely while sheltering-in-home.
Single family homes or multi-family dwellings? Given this is NY I suspect many of them are the latter.

I keep hand sanitizer in the car.
As soon as I sit down in the driver’s seat, I sanitize my hands. Then take my mask off.
I don’t sanitize all the groceries.
I wash my hands after I put everything away.
Almost everything will sit there for a day or two before they get touched again.
