New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Monday that New York can begin to reopen as planned on a region-by-region basis once the states stay-at-home order expires on May 15 amid the coronavirus pandemic.
May 15 is when the state wide PAUSE order expires, Cuomo said during his press conference on Monday. On May 15 regions can start to reopen and do their own analysis.
This is going to be region by region and each region has to put together the leaders in those respective areas and monitor this system literally on a daily basis, Cuomo added.

Maybe he had a talk with Trump and realized he couldn’t extort any more money from the feds by keeping it shut down longer.
The most important issue to me in terms of “opening” NY (or anywhere else) is what are they doing about the schools? NJ just closed ours through the end of the school year, so guess what, A LOT of moms and dads will still have to work remotely. Which, you know, maybe that is good in a way, but it won’t do much to stimulate the economy.
I’ve probably saved $300, at the very least, by not driving the last six weeks.
Whoa, “our” regional governor speaks. Hopefully wimpy Lamont is listening, and will start reopening CT on May 15th, rather than the 20th.
There is a movement in WNY to break away from The City - not sure how that could be done.
Hey, Cuomo-— how would they monitor this on a “non” literal daily basis.... .would that be the way you monitored the Nursing home murder rate you and your people mandated? Hmmmm-— an easier non-daily Non-literal basis? Watch the bodies pile up at places never ready to take such patients.
And then-—you made Hydroxychloroquine AZT, and Zinc ONLY available at hospitalization..... not preventative.
Cuomo-— the MORON. Son of Cuomo the Pious a@@hole. All stupid... on literally a daily basis.
I just called for an investigation of @NYGovCuomo failed nursing home policies in New York State. No other state should face what New York has been forced to endure.— George E. Pataki (@GovernorPataki) May 1, 2020
Not that easy, here’s his so called plan:

Pataki just woke up, good for him.
Add our idiot Baker, in MA., to the list. Wed. we go to mandatory masks and he won’t consider anything until the 18th. You can walk on a golf course here but not pick up a club. Tennis courts locked. Since when is tennis a contact sport? The stores that are open are packed. Nothing makes sense.
This is the second robust economy that Cuomo has killed during his political career. You may recall that when he was Secretary of HUD under, he sowed the seeds for the "no-down payment, no-job, no credit" mortgage loans that blew up the economy in 2008. - 2009.
How about the subway still running and packing people on to those carts
School is closed in NY for the rest of the academic year.
Im sure hes waiting for Cuomo to tell him what to do.
Many Counties shoulda been open the whole time.
Coumo was never really that great.
Most counties in upstate New York should never have been shut down
Did we ever hear about the results of NY's administering of Hydroxychloroquine which happened way many weeks ago? We never heard whether or not they gave it to anybody. If they did, did they give it with azithromicyn and/or zinc? If they did, did they give it early in the progression of the disease, at the ICU stage or at the intubation stage.
An eighth grader could have set up a science fair activity using the above categories and found out how well the drug worked. Instead ... crickets.
So, no, I wouldn't be opposed to going back to school instead of working online at home (especially since I'm sure they'll remain half-empty, with no repercussions).
