Trudeau Liberals declare war on Canada’s law-abiding gun community

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 2, 2020

Oshawa, ON – On Friday, May 1, 2020, the Liberal government of Justin Trudeau launched an unwarranted attack against our community. With the stroke of a pen, 1500 guns were instantly banned.

No reasons were given other than Trudeau’s usual warm and fuzzy platitudes and virtue signalling on a subject he knows absolutely nothing about. While this is hardly a new role for him, the evil minions that do his bidding even went so far as to disable the Firearms Reference Tables for an entire day to prevent the transfer of firearms.

It was an unwarranted declaration of war against Canada’s firearms community.

Yesterday was a whirlwind of government briefings, media interviews, consultations with our General Counsel, political analysis and dealing with hundreds of phone calls, emails and inquiries.

The government said there is a two-year amnesty and, during that time, they will decide on a plan forward. That plan may include confiscations, buying your guns with your own money and possible grandfathering. But so far, there is nothing but their promise to seek solutions – for them.

We urge you not to over-react. Stay cool. Stay strong.

DO NOT TURN IN YOUR FIREARMS

The Trudeau government made some foolish mistakes implementing these Orders in Council. We will use these errors against them in the coming months, but do not become complacent. The Liberal government of Justin Trudeau hates us, and they will continue to demonize us and denigrate our character at every turn.

To them, there is no room in this country for you or your culture of safety, freedom and responsibility. Do not forget this in the struggle ahead.

We need you with us in the coming days. Our strength is our members and your support and hard work will be critical to our survival.

Most of all, do not give up hope. The Trudeau Liberals have fired their volley. Now it’s our turn.

WHAT IS CSSA DOING ABOUT IT?

The question on the minds of our members is simple. What is the CSSA doing about it?

Plenty.

Today’s announcement, while repulsive and stupid, is not a surprise. The Liberals have talked about it for over two years. The only surprise is they would attempt to jam it down the throats of Canadians in the midst of a global pandemic – and when Parliament is all but shut down.

First, we continue to do interviews with media across the country to explain some really simple facts to Canadians. As those interviews are made available on the web, we will share them with you.

Second, we’re working with our General Counsel, analysing all legal avenues and potential options, both legal and legislative. There are many potential avenues for striking this down in the courts, and we’re examining them all.

Third, we’re working with politicians across the political spectrum to educate them about the many pitfalls contained in today’s announcement. As you can well imagine, the Conservative Party is all over this, and we’re working with them at every level to ensure they know what we know, and vice versa.

Fourth, we are developing more communications vehicles to educate Canadians about why this approach to public policy does not and cannot work.

Fifth, we’re examining every aspect of today’s announcement to identify all the holes in it – and there are many.

Will we stop this gun ban overnight? No, of course not. But if even one of the many avenues we’ve already identified pan out, we are well-positioned to stop this garbage in its tracks.

So stay tuned… there is much to be figured out over the coming days… and all of it will be communicated to you as soon as we are able.

Until then, stay safe and keep your powder dry.

This latest power-grab by Trudeau and the left-wing elites running our northern neighbor is bad... very bad. Gun owners there are determined to combat this latest onslaught, and they are going to need all the help they can get.

I suppose it wouldn't be possible to retrofit their government structure to incorporate something like our Bill of Rights?

Hey, we can dream, can't we?

Not sure about using stolen police weapons. News coverage here in the U.S. has been sparse and conflicting.

Good point about the use of fire.

This mental case also had a police uniform of sorts as well as a car decorated to resemble a police car. Not sure.

Now they got a point.

There was no murder before guns.

Or wars.

Just ask the Romans.

Even with a much smaller world population I’m guessing they killed 10s of millions during their centuries long reign.

Without firing a shot.

libs know that their best chances at making major societal shifts are when crises occur

look at how many have exploited this mess and other messes with laws and ideas just ready to go, waiting in the hopper for the ‘right opportunity’

because they can never get such stuff through in normal times

and too many people on our side and the rest thank them for doing it, beg for them to do it

Canadian armed forces enter the United States all the time under arms.

Recall seeing them in Nevada a couple of years ago. Couldn’t help but think: these foreigners are here with automatic weapons, but for us to do that?

Good Luck.

They should be banished from our soil and the status of forces agreements ripped up. We should have NO dealings with a tyrannical “nation” like Canada.

"We should have NO dealings with a tyrannical “nation” like Canada."

You have to bear in mind that most of the people there are just like we Americans when we find ourselves behind enemy lines in places like NY, New Jersey, California, etc., etc.

And we have to recognize that the vast majority of this world is like Canada, not us. Unfortunately.

You could just as readily apply that standard to most of Europe, as well as many, many other nations that we deal with on the international stage.

I’m with you.

I have lived in Maine for nearly 30 years, and I’ve never been to Canada. Not once, and I have no desire to go there.

I’ll go out of my way to avoid buying anything made in Canada.

If there’s anything the left is scared of, it’s the law abiding with power. Law abiding without power are slaves.

Over three centuries ago, John Locke observed that any supposed 'right' to resist tyranny is absolutely meaningless, if the means to offer resistance is denied:

"He therefore who may resist [tyranny], must be allowed [the means] to strike."

That is just as true today, as it was then...

A tiny, tiny number of mentally ill people kill a few people and the liberals’ solution is to disarm the millions of law abiding citizens.

“I suppose it wouldn’t be possible to retrofit their government structure to incorporate something like our Bill of Rights?”

Our Bill of Rights are only words on a piece of paper if the politicians, law enforcement officials, and judges populating the government do not believe in individual liberty or take their oaths of office seriously. Too many federal and state judges today ignore the constitution or interpret their own socialistic world view into the words. We’ve seen in recent weeks a number of governors and local officials delight in wielding “emergency” power to corral and control the population.

Over past few decades we are a nation that has killed 60 million children through abortion permitted by the courts and legislatures. So much for the Bill of Rights protecting innocent children. When FDR wanted to round up citizens of Japanese descent, take their property, and put them in camps, the courts and Congress put up no opposition, despite the gross violation of the Bill of Rights. A Congress committed to individual rights would never have passed the “Patriot Act” and its secret (FISA) courts nor would a “conservative” President committed to constitutionally guaranteed rights have asked Congress to do so.

A free people would never have tolerated secret courts. Yet General Flynn, Donald Trump, Roger Stone, Paul Manafort, George Papadapoulos, and Carter Page are proof the protections of due process and other rights do not exist in America today with secret courts permitting law enforcement to violate those rights willfully. Ask journalist Sheryl Atkisson about the constitutional protections for freedom of the press and against government spying in one’s home. What about the current Governor of Virginia who casually advocates genocide of babies after birth as long as they are made “comfortable” while the mother and a physician decide if they will live or die. So much for the Bill of Rights.

We are one vote away from a Supreme Court interpreting the 2nd amendment applies only to members of the government sanctioned militia (i.e. the National Guard). If Ruth Bader Ginsberg hangs on to be replaced by a President Biden, and the aging Justice Thomas dies inopportunely (like Justice Scalia), the 2nd Amendment, as we know it today, is gone. At that point President Biden, Harris, Booker, or Warren will have no qualms about signing an order compelling citizens to turn in guns. The sheep may bleat but they will comply.

Don’t forget “conservative” Chief Justice Roberts, appointed by the compassionate conservative George W. Bush, has been happy to vote with the left when key decisions are being made. Look a few years ahead when a liberal majority decides to change he meaning of the 2nd Amendment in a 5-4 decision. Do you really believe the same pressure put on Roberts to sustain Obamacare won’t be applied to ensure a 6-3 vote eviscerating the 2nd Amendment.

Consider the Constitutional protections for private property requiring it being taken only for essential public use (roads, military bases, etc) and only with just compensation. It wasn’t many years ago the Supreme Court ruled in the Kelo decision private property could be taken by government to give to private developers. Our founding fathers would have turned over in their graves at the Kelo decision. Yet we accepted the evisceration of private property rights without a whimper.

Gay marriage. The Constitution give the federal government no jurisdiction over marriage yet the Supreme Court ruled in favor of gay marriage. The states and citizens meekly complied. So much for the 10th amendment in the Bill of Rights.

If you don’t think a future Democrat President with a majority in the House and Senate and a 5-4 or 6-4 leftist Supreme Court majority won’t do the same as Trudeau, you are kidding yourselves. My prediction is the people will meekly turn in their guns just as they’ve been compliant on social distancing, open borders, export of their jobs to China, and secret courts. Americans today don’t seem very upset about extreme censorship of social media and the press. They willingly take their toddlers to transvestite story time for preschoolers at the local library, they accept the public schools teaching homosexuality in elementary school, they accept the release of hardened criminals from jail on a judge or governor’s whim, they are not raising hell at the local school board when the pledge of allegiance is banned and Thomas Jefferson is pilloried in history class.

In the 1770’s our forefathers stood on Lexington green and were willing to be killed by the most powerful army in the world (British) to stand up for their rights and protest the taxes on tea. Their descendants may have guns at home but gladly pay taxes many times great than their forefathers shed blood to oppose. In addition they willingly pay high taxes for public schools that don’t teach literacy to their children yet indoctrinate their children to hate them, capitalism, and the freedoms the founders shed blood to secure. What good is the 2nd amendment if the rulers do not really fear the people who own them?

Once the 2nd Amendment is gone, the first will be eviscerated. It is clear today’s leftists disdain free speech and freedom of the press. It is just a matter of time. Then the wholesale appropriation of private property begins in earnest.

Suppose Trump gets four more years and temporarily holds barbarians bay. At the point he steps down do you believe Mike Pence, Jeb Bush, Nicki Haley, Kevin McCarthy, or anywhere close to a majority of GOP Senators and Representatives will fight like Trump to preserve your freedom. The last 50 years show they will cave to Democrat demands in order to “get along” and feather their nests. After eight more years of another Democrat president, enjoying a majority in both houses of Congress, the few GOP members of Congress will fall in line to avoid being put in the gulag.

Unlike the East Berliners who tore down the Berlin Wall, American people today don’t have the backbone to take to the streets in sufficient numbers to force government to end its mandated destruction of the economy we are currently witnessing. Most of the sheep seem very happy with isolation and social distancing. When two government bureaucrat medical doctors have the power to shut down the entire economy, the Bill of Rights is meaningless. The wolves and barbarians are certainly taking note and making plans for your future.

We have to stay involved with Canada. Its a National Security issue.

Otherwise they are so weak that within a few years China would be right on our boarder.
