A new report is predicting that the coronavirus pandemic may last as long as two years and that it could take up to two-thirds of the global population being immune to effectively control the spread of the virus.
The report released Thursday from the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP) at the University of Minnesota said that due to coronavirus’s ability to spread among people who appear to be asymptomatic, it may be harder to control than flu outbreaks or other pandemics.
“The virus caught the global community off guard, and its future course is still highly unpredictable; there is no crystal ball to tell us what the future holds and what the ‘end game’ for controlling this pandemic will be,” the report says.
The report predicts three scenarios:
In the first scenario, small peaks of coronavirus outbreaks continue over a “1- to 2-year period” that diminish in 2021, although the waves may be different in separate areas. In the second scenario, a larger wave of coronavirus in the fall or winder of 2020 follows the first wave of the virus, resulting in more waves in 2021. In the final category, the first wave of the virus in 2020 is followed by a “slow burn” of ongoing cases “without a clear wave pattern.”
Researchers say in the report that, based on their assessment of eight major pandemics that have occurred since the early 1700s and the lack of immunity to coronavirus around the world, among other factors, the length of the coronavirus pandemic will likely be 18 to 24 months, as “herd immunity gradually develops in the human population.” Herd immunity occurs when a large amount of the population becomes immune through either inoculation or recovery from an infection.

No, not really. It is officially done, kaput, over, finished... We the people decided.

Then it’s up to us to speak it. Everywhere, and to everyone.
There is absolutely no guarantee that a vaccine will ever be found. Our record on developing them for coronaviruses in the past is not encouraging. Dr. Fauci’s track record in particular is REALLY not encouraging.
That being said I’m not going to throw cold water on any progress that might be made. This nation created nuclear weapons and went to the moon based on intense, focused Manhattan Project-type efforts, so far be it from me to say we can’t do it again.
But there are no guarantees. To me this is really about stringing out the crisis as long as possible to milk the cash cow until the other scenario (herd immunity) occurs.
I’ve been studying this event since January and I don’t think two years is an unreasonable guess.
These “predictions” are easier to deal with if you call them what they are - guesses.
All the controls will just prolong our time on the road to immunity.
The virus will continue until the people releasing these worthless reports are fired. and the people watching/reading this crap turn it off.

Just think he is way, way off on this one.
I believe if Dem President gets elected this year, a vaccine and cure for COVID will appear shortly thereafter. OR it will suddenly come out, it’s not as contagious, deadly as they had thought.
They have zero understanding of the latency of this virus. Only time is going to tell that.
