The Trump administration is planning to speed up development of a coronavirus vaccine with the goal of having 100 million doses ready by the end of 2020, a senior administration official said on Wednesday.
The official declined to be publicly identified.
Executives and other experts have previously suggested that clinical trials to guarantee a vaccine is safe and effective could take a minimum of 12 to 18 months.
Several agencies within the Department of Health and Human Services announced plans earlier in April to partner with more than 15 drug companies as well as European regulators in an effort to spur development of vaccines and treatments for the disease.
The latest Trump administration efforts to speed vaccine development were originally reported by Bloomberg News, citing people familiar with the matter.
Called "Operation Warp Speed," the project will join private pharmaceutical companies with government agencies and the military in trying to cut the development time for a vaccine by as much as eight months, Bloomberg News said bloom.bg/2YgpC1j.
It said a White House meeting on the project was scheduled for Wednesday.
Last month, President Donald Trump directed Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Alex Azar to speed development of a vaccine, and administration officials have been meeting on the effort for three to four weeks, the report added.

Just crank out cheap doses of hydroxychloroquine. Then, it won’t even matter what strain the virus is.
It sure appears that someone has pulled the wool over Trump’s eyes in this matter.
And injecting people with a not so well proven(rushing the time-frame) vaccine is not the smartest move. Symptoms from damaging vaccines can take years to show up.
And everything about remdesivir appears to be rigged.
And does anyone realize that the trail end dates for HCQ are way into the future. The NY trials on HCQ don’t end for another year or two. Yet Remdesivir trials are already over with. Plus they massively altered the goals of the Remdesivir trail after it was under way. Now I will back up what I say with some links.

I believe this drug started being used for Ebola about 5 years ago which is a virus similar to this one.
That means two things, one this isn't a drug that was rushed through. It is a drug that is used for a similar virus. Second, it means that knowing that this drugs mechanism can have an affect on this virus, they can work on making it more effective to target this specific virus.
Lot of caveats though.
- No guarantee whatsoever that a vaccine can EVER be found for this. Our track record on developing them for coronaviruses in general is not good. Yet guys like Fauci remain cock-sure of producing them on shorter and shorter timeframes.
- When such a vaccine is developed under the enormous social and political pressures that this one is facing a replay of the government’s 1975 swine flu debacle seems quite high.
From Trump’s perspective this may be a public confidence move though. Give the virus time to fade out on its own while reassuring the public that a vaccine Manhattan Project is underway. The media has managed to scare the crap out of so many that he probably needs to do this.
Plus if he allows Dr. Tony to cash-in on a big vaccine scam perhaps he’ll start spending his time on eTrade and stay the hell away from microphones.
Yet the last time I checked people continued to contract Ebola.

Let’s not conflate vaccines with TREATMENTS. Vaccines are to PREVENT one from catching the disease. HCQ and Remdesivir are to treat people AFTER they catch the disease and get sick.
Each have suffered uses and purposes.
Darpa has a project to develop a warp drive engine. It’s called “Vaccinate Now”.

65000 Italians were on hydroxychloroquine for lupus or rheumatoid arthritis before the virus hit there. Only twenty contracted the virus and none were hospitalized or died.
That pretty much replicates what was reported about hydroxychloroquine patients among the passengers of the ships which were quarantined late last year.
Yeah, you can use hydroxychloroquine with Z-Pak as a treatment, but it has proven far more effective as a prophylaxis and has been used on more patients that way.
You need to look ahead to post #2 from ZeroHedge or you will have no idea why I mentioned both vaccines and a “Treatment”.
