Guy can never make a decision that does not increase virus spread.
More cars running at all hours decreases crowding, lowers infectivity.
But the big story is all this time they haven’t been disinfecting the subway cars.
Criminal negligence.
Horse/Barn comes to mind.
What I was thinking.
This only THREE MONTHS TOO LATE! It should have been done at the end of January!
Cuomo couldn’t shut down the subway to save lives, yet Trump shut down the entire national economy to do so.
Cuomo, like most leftists, is a COWARD!
F_CK CUOMO, ALL of them!
I'm sure Cuomo was too busy droning on at powerpoint sessions to actually do anything about the spread.
I can’t believe they haven’t had someone on every train whose job is to go through and spray rubbing alcohol and wipe down all the surfaces, especially the hand rails, with regularity.
The original ordinance against spitting in the subway, cars, stations, platforms, tracks was in response to the Spanish Flu. But the subways still ran 24/7.
How about, instead of having NYPD cops waste their time harassing people for not strapping a maxi pad over their face.. Maybe have the cops periodically sweep the subways and make sure people are on the subway to ride the subway and not to camp there. And since they’re already erasing the entire constitution and don’t give a damn about anyone’s “rights” anyhow, how about enacting an “emergency” anti-vagrancy order and start rounding up the bums and storing them somewhere until the pandemic is over?
I thought they liked their subway system always smelling of piss.
Won’t be able to call the Big Apple “New York $hitty” anymore.
Cats out of the barn now.
I’ll tell ya what, on DAY ONE they should have evacuated the Subways, stopped the trains, and boarded up the entrances until the hazard had passed.
Put the virus on the A-Train to Harlem.
Around here they have been operating mass transit on a reduced schedule and running through the busses a couple of times a day with a hydrogen peroxide mist. Im glad I dont live in New York.
“Using rubbing alcohol on surfaces caked full of decades of crap and piss doesnt do a whole lot...”
It cleans off and neutralizes any active virus.
What did you think it’s supposed to do?
I read somewhere maybe around a month ago that NYC transit employees had the highest rate of Covid19 cases of city employees. Something like double that of police employees. And as I recall the article only had 2 cases of firefighters at the time.
So the evidence was there a long time ago. And dipshit Mayor was too busy shipping old people with the virus to infect others in nursing homes?!?!
New Yorkers are crazy to keep this idiot in charge!
My jaw dropped. The move to clean the subways comes 53 days after Cuomo declared a State of Emergency on March 7.
SMH til my teeth rattle.
