I like Pence but the mans a twit.
Either he comes out and defends himself by saying he had the corona or that the risk of transmission was minimal or he owns up to it.
Not responding - letting his wife make excuses for him is poor behavior politically.
But then this is how he acted during the entire RFRA debacle.

HOWEVER....
If I were #2 in the line of succession, AND I was walking into a world-famous clinic that houses one of the biggest collections of exotic germs in the world, you bet your sweet bippy I’d be wearing a mask.

Give the guy a break. He's not "defending himself" because nobody has asked him anything about it directly. You can be sure a question about it will be put to him the next time he's at a COVID-19 press briefing.
His wife only mentioned it because she was asked about it.

Pence is doing just fine. He's done an excellent job running corona control. And he's a good balance to the President and stands with him 110%.
