Zinc: The Missing Element in the HCQ/COVID-19 debate
American thinker ^ | April 26, 2020 | Howard Richman

It has been known, ever since 1984, that zinc is an effective virus fighter. That year a research study discovered that taking zinc gluconate lozenges early in the course of a common cold could shorten it. After a series of apparently conflicting research studies, a 2012 review of the literature concluded that taking zinc early reduces the duration of a common cold by an average of 1.65 days. Since colds are mild virus infections, it is clear that zinc has anti-virus properties. Zinc and COVID-19 When the COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) virus pandemic began, one of the glaring facts apparent to those who were familiar with the zinc research was that at least two of the three groups in the United States that were known for having zinc deficiencies (elderly people and Black Americans) were contracting and dying from COVID-19 at much greater proportions than the general public. There are no statistics available on the third group (vegans), but there is an anecdotal report of a young and robust vegan getting a severe case of COVID-19. Correlation is not causation, and there are other reasons why African Americans and elderly people might be the most vulnerable. But medical researchers have long known some of the mechanisms through which zinc fights virus infections within the cell. In an excellent YouTube video from March 6, 2020, Dr. Seheult illustrates and explains the inner workings of COVID-19 within the cell and how zinc within the cell fights it.

Dr. “Z” should be in line for this! The Presidential Medal of Freedom is an award bestowed by the president of the United States to recognize people who have made “an especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors”.

And now I’m having trouble finding famotidine (Pepcid), my “go to” acid reducer now that Zantac has been withdrawn from the market. Jeez, these pharmaceutical scientists are finding that all my favorite products may be good at fighting CoVID-19.

Call your doctor. Walgreens pharmacy told me Ranitidine (Zantac) is available on prescription and my doctor prescibed 180 tablets. I take one per day so I was set for half a year.

“Try Wal-Mart. They seem pretty well outfitted with the full array.”

Knock yourself out.... all zinc I’ve found in WalSmart is made in... wait for it.... China.

Don’t friggin think so. Not interested in Wuhan in a Bottle.

Ranitidine was pulled from the shelves of drugstores because it was identified as a cancer risk. I take omeprazole for acid reflux and it seems to work very well.

Without Zinc (for the ionosphore) or Vitamin C there is NOTHING that is given to kill the virus.
Asorbic acid is the ammunition for your white blood cells it last literally last ten minutes in your blood and it's gone. If the person is very sick an asorbic acid IV of +3 grams a day is KEY for this to work

The HCQ is can neutralize the growth of the virus but it can't kill it.

Zinc destroys or inhibits the RNA dependent RNA polymeras. I cannot find any video that describes how it compromises this enzyme. What the enzyme does is attach itself to the translated RNA strand that was created when a ribosome takes in the virus’s single stranded RNA. It travels down the strand and creates a negative version of the strand. If the RNA dependent RNA polymeras has been destroyed, it is like killing the carpenter who builds the house.

Remdesivir also inhibits the RNA dependent RNA polymeras. What Remdesivir does is insert its molecule that mimics the Urisil component of the RNA that was formed by when the ribosome translates the virus’s genome. As this translation process occurs, the ribosome is instructed to generate the RNA dependent RNA polymeras used to build a new virus. Once this defective copy is created, the RNA dependent RNA polymeras attaches itself to the defective copy in a process called transcription. This process generates a negative copy of the RNA strand. When the polymeras comes across the Remdesivir molecule, it becomes bound to that molecule and cannot continue in he transcription process. It’s like the carpenter nailing his foot to the decking with a nail gun. The virus will not replicate. End of story.

I hate Amazon, it’s so...well “Prime”

Whenever I see something advertised on TV and it says “not available on Amazon” I want to buy it even if I don’t need it LOL!

I won’t buy anyting from amazon, it can always be found elsewhere.

Thanks for the info Jane.

My doctor told me a few months ago to start taking zinc.

I take it once a day with food.

My wife Purchased Zinc. Some stores like Target you can view what they have in stock. Ask them to hold it for you and go in a pick it up.

We had to drive a ways to find some but it can be found

Try half a teaspoon of backing soda fully dissolved in a glass of water. Sodium bicarbonate is an antacid.

It's basically Alka Seltzer, without the fizz and aspirin.

Airborne tablets also have zinc, as well as vitamin C and other minerals.

Oysters are a good source of zinc. I made sure I got a number of cans. Oyster chowder is tasty.

Not all.

Some of the Spring Valley products are made in China and other countries, but much of their product is USA-made. You have to look at the label.

I did a search before I went out and bought some zinc...some of the info said that it also blocks the virus from accessing manganese which it needs in order to propagate.
