Majority in new poll say it's time to reopen economy for all who are not sick or vulnerable

majority say it's time to re-open the economy for all who are not sick or vulnerable, according to the new Just the News Daily Poll with Scott Rasmussen.

Fifty-one percent (51%) of American voters favor a proposal that would allow all who are not sick or vulnerable in their area to return to work. Thirty-eight percent (38%) are opposed, and 10% are not sure.

"It’s important to note that we specifically asked about the question in the context of the area that the respondents lived in," Rasmussen said. "This is not a call for a national rule, but a recognition that different dynamics exist in different communities. Remember, last week we found that people had a strong preference for decision making by state and local officials. Therefore, it’s not surprising that we found a significant geographic divide."

Polling showed urban voters are least supportive of the proposal, while rural voters are the most supportive. Specifically, urban voters are evenly divided — 44% in favor and 44% opposed. Suburban voters are supportive by a 10% margin — 51% in favor and 41% opposed. Rural voters favor the proposal by a lopsided 64%-26%.

"This suggests a broader theme that voters want more restrictions eased, but with attention paid to local circumstances," Rasmussen said. "The rules that make sense in New York City are not likely to be appropriate in rural Georgia. There is also a dramatic partisan difference on this question, tied to the fact that Democrats are more likely to be found in urban areas and Republicans in rural areas. Seventy-six percent (76%) of Republicans favor letting those who are not sick and vulnerable return to work. Fifty-four percent (54%) of Democrats are opposed."

Our Democrat Governor plans on keeping us in Lock Down through the Summer! Our Legislature is trying to fight him. Lawsuit pending, big p*ssin’ match going on right now between ‘We The People’ and our Governor.

LIBERATE WISCONSIN!

It’s always entertaining to see, like watching Ginger Rogers match all of Fred Astaire’s moves but backwards and in ridiculous heels, the press spin the truth into whatever lie is most damaging to Christ, his Church, and those political parties supported by practicing Christians.

Actually there's some pretty stiff competition for that title on FR.

Well I live in Florida and the Governor is hiding behind a TASK FORCE...

If he does not open the state up no restriction's of any kind..except Senior living centers and nursing homes..

Disney World, Bush Gardens, Universal Studios will not reopen til 2021 if ever..

I can see Disney going Bankrupt...

No Parks..

NO ESPN

No Movies

The only thing they have is streaming..

and ABC...but ABC will not have anything new in the fall

"Majority in new poll say it's time to reopen economy for all who are not sick or vulnerable [??? emphasis added]"

We probably wouldn't have had a lockdown to the extent that we did if we could easily test for virus or its antibodies.

Insights welcome.

Send "Orange Man Bad" federal and state government Democrats and RINOs home in November!

Supporting PDJT with a new patriot Congress and state government leaders that will promise to fully support his already excellent work for MAGA and stopping COVID-19 will effectively give fast-working Trump a third term in office imo.

MAGA, also KAGA! (Keep America Great Always!)

Just say NO
They may protect nursing homes but they are NOT going to involuntarily confine any American of any age

The CDC panicked since there never wrong...they can not say we were wrong lets change course..

The lock-down probably could have been lifted after two weeks..it was to prevent the hospitals from being over run...not stop the spread over all..

The data changed but they did not..

I’ve noticed that too...its the younger people who are more paranoid. Well, actually, late middle aged women are the worst, and they’re busy reporting their neighbors.

As for the elderly, we’ve got to rethink isolation...the places with the highest death rates (nursing homes) were the most isolated. A couple of docs from, of all places, CA, came out and said a couple of days ago that isolating people of any age from normal contact (and then especially if they’re locked in together) means they build up no normal day-to-day resistance to the bugs that hit us all every day.

So I think there’s a lot of models that need to be rethought.

Disney going bankrupt and the pieces sold off would be one of the better outcomes.
