...As mass coronavirus testing expands in prisons, large numbers of inmates are showing no symptoms. In four state prison systems Arkansas, North Carolina, Ohio and Virginia 96% of 3,277 inmates who tested positive for the coronavirus were asymptomatic, according to interviews with officials and records reviewed by Reuters. Thats out of 4,693 tests that included results on symptoms...

Are they asymptomatic or presymptomatic?
Makes a difference.
What is the false positive rate of the test?
The entire world shut down all for the seasonal flu.
A few folks should hang...
And some gov’s want to release them like here in WA; fortunately the SCOWA voted down idiot gov. Inslee to release 11,000 felons by a vote of 5 to 4 meaning there were four that wanted people like the Green River killer (40 women) released into the general public.
So if one of those without symptoms gets shanked and dies, that another “Covid death”
Not a joke. That is how the counts are being done.
i would really like to know HOW they got the virus...
The bullshit here is so thick you can cut it with a knife.
Corona is a family of viruses, including most common colds. With an accurate enough test most of us could probably yield a positive result on a test for “Corona Virus”.
The virus that causes the disease known as CoVid-19 is called SARS-CoV-2. Were these inmates tested for that specific virus? Does there even exist an accurate test for that virus? Reuters will never tell, that’s for sure.
There is no difference...you really need to stop. Asymptomatic describe the medical condition — and do you really think that all of the sudden thousands will manifest symptoms — its not as if each were tested today. The way the report reads, they are likely cleared and likely all asymptomatic. I know it makes you miserable to see data against what you wish for.
Yes, the tests are for CoVID 19 — but nice at paranoia, fake news and redirection. This wins the daily award for kook post of the day that attempts to sound legit.
Again, Reuters reports this like it as bad news, rather than proof that almost everyone who is infected will not even get sick.
“Yes, the tests are for CoVID 19”
CoViD-19 is the name of the disease, not the name of the virus. I happen to think words and their meanings are important, especially in a situation like this. That makes me “paranoid”?
I read the article. Where does it say that the tests were for SARS CoV-2? All it says it that the inmates were tested for “Corona Virus”. Unless you can point out something I missed I stand by my previous award-winning comments.
Gosh, it's almost as if the infection just comes and goes in most people, and is so mild they never feel sick or develop antibodies. Time to hang all the hysteria-inciters.
War of the Worlds radio show.
Ok you are a self important ass... its a distinction without difference — I treat these patients daily and we use them interchangeably — if you want to make a big deal our of the irrelevant have at it.
I am glad you can read an article, the tests we are using are NOT for any corona virus they are specific to CoVID 19 which is how the hospital EMRs also report it.
Get a grip.
Award winning — for biggest load of horse shi*t published today — and there was a lot of competition for this award.
“Are they asymptomatic or presymptomatic? Makes a difference.”
No, it doesn’t. Seems you read two big words on the Internet but don’t really know what they mean.
What I did not know before yesterday is that there are asymptomatic flu infected as well?
Maybe some people who get the flu get what they think is a moderate cold or just feel kind of off for a couple days.
Its unbelievable isn’t it? He reads big words and thinks he knows what it means
