Actor Jeff Goldblum is facing backlash for questions he asked a contestant on RuPaul's Drag Race.

During a recent Season 12 episode, guest judge Goldblum asked a Muslim contestant if her religion was “anti-homosexuality” and “anti-woman.”

“Is there something in this religion that is anti-homosexuality and anti-woman? Does that complicate the issue? I’m just raising it and thinking out loud and maybe being stupid,” Goldblum asked.

His comments sparked a debate on social media...

I have been reading some historical works on Middle Eastern culture. It appears that Islam merely incorporated the current cultural approach and customs regarding women of that era in the Middle East.

About a decade ago I kept trying to create accounts on DU using different gmail accounts. Each time I’d try to act neutral and not say anything “conservative”. No account ever lasted over a day - because I would ask very carefully worded non-accusational and simple, honest questions like that one on various subjects and “BAM” banned.

Even allowing reasonable questions to enter your mind proves you’re not one of them.

I saw a video of Iranians lifting gay men by ropes around their necks using a crane. What struck me was how calm they all were. One of them spotted somebody he knew and turned away so they could see his bound hands and he waved to them. I noticed the same thing in a beheading video. Either they are drugged or they have the philosophy that it will be okay because everything that happens is Allah’s will.

You do know RuPaul’s Drag Race has nothing to do with motorsports.

RuPaul is a homosexual drag queen from San Diego who has a successful show on LOGO and VH1 about (mostly) homosexual men dressing garishly as women.
