(CNSNews.com) - Former Vice President Joe Biden says that if he becomes president he will restore the policy followed during the Obama Administration that allowed transgender individuals to serve openly in the U.S. military.
“In June 2016, the Obama-Biden Administration overturned the ban on transgender individuals serving openly, without hiding their gender identity,” says “ The Biden Plan to Advance LGBTQ+ Equality in America and Around the World ,” which is posted on Biden’s campaign website.
“But Trump reversed this policy, barring transgender patriots from serving openly,” says the Biden plan.
“This is discriminatory and detrimental to our national security,” says Biden’s plan. “Every American who is qualified to serve in our military should be able to do so—regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity and without having to hide who they are.
“Biden,” says the plan, “will direct the U.S. Department of Defense to allow transgender service members to serve openly, receive needed medical treatment, and be free from discrimination.”
Here is the passage from plan to advance LGBTQ+ equality that talks about allowing transgender service members to serve openly:

Nearly all the sex changed members of the armed forces require health monitoring,expensive continuing treatments for the reactions in their bodies of the unnatural hormones, drugs and often more surgery due to the effects of their change and are assigned regular psychological sessions. These are the responsibility of the branch of the service.

Yep, trannies want free transgender medical which is very expensive and I’d venture most of them want to make their political statement by being accepted in the military.

Exactly, and the military has never been a democratic organization nor should it be.
I am concerned that this would be abused.
Somebody who is going through a transition may not be physically capable, and may incur huge medical expenses. It seems to me that enlisting in the military would be a good way to have Uncle Sam pick up all of these expenses.
If the requirement is that they be able to serve openly and express their gender identity, it would be hard to deny them these accommodations. Unfortunately, this comes at the expense of military necessity.
The military is not an entitlement program. They have a mission, and mission should come first.

I’ve read that diabetics cannot serve because they cannot be safely deployed. The military cannot guarantee that the needed insulin will always be available to them. If this is true, then shouldn’t this apply to ‘transgenders’ as well?
This does not even begin to address the idea that someone obviously suffering from a serious mental illness should not be in the military in the first place.
