FRANKFORT, Ky. (KT) Gov. Andy Beshear vetoed Senate Bill 9 on Friday, saying that Kentucky law already fully protects children from being denied life-saving medical care and treatment when they are born.
...
House Speaker David Osborne said he was outraged and saddened over the decision to veto a bill aimed at protecting human life and Attorney General Daniel Cameron called it "reprehensible."
Make no mistake, the governor had a choice and he used it to defend the indefensible, Osborne said. The Born Alive Act simply requires physicians and other health caregivers to provide life-saving medical care to infants who survive an abortion. This is about protecting a human life outside of the womb.
When asked about the veto at his daily press conference Friday afternoon, Beshear said he was just not doing divisive issues right now.
...
Planned Parenthood praised Beshear for the veto in a statement.
Not only is this bill unnecessary, it is a blatant display of anti-abortion politics by extremists in the Kentucky General Assembly, said Tamarra Weider, the Kentucky director Planned Parenthood Advocates of Indiana and Kentucky. A global pandemic is not the time to play political games with peoples lives.

Extraordinary.
Is Satan’s idea to have so many of these inhuman incidents that we will become numb and tired of fighting them?
Well, it’s not working.
And one has to ask why a plague is being visited upon this country?
"Good for our governor! There are lots of negro children that need killing and we are just the people to do it."
It seems crazy to me. He’s driving away people on both sides, I should think.
‘Extraordinary.’
it is their doctrine; in order to justify abortion, it is necessary to not think of the unborn as people, and as such they are are of lesser, if not marginal, value as beings deserving protection of life, and thus not to be included in the family of humans...
Ping.
Beshear must be a Democrat since the article made no mention of his party affiliation. Usually when its about a Republican it appears in the first paragraph. So what is he?
‘And one has to ask why a plague is being visited upon this country?’
coronaviruses are not the plague, which is a bacterium called yersinia pestis...and it was not visited upon anybody, it was released through shoddy research efforts by the Red Chinese and spread by travel...
and all those good Christians “saved” and ready for heaven will still vote for this creep because as we all “know” its not your actions that count....
It’s being visited upon the world and in some good countries too. No one is immune. We punish each other enough and ourselves enough and we will receive punishment when we die if deserved . God doesn’t have to waste his time sending pestilence.
Eternal damnation is more than enough.
Abortion is an incredibly insane defect in humanity.
I seriously doubt he is driving away any leftists here. First, his history as AG should have cost him the election were it not for government employees (not just teachers) going nuts over Bevin trying to reform AND save the KY pension system - which is clearly now doomed with a second corrupt Beshear in Frankfort.
His views on abortion were well known long before now, he didn't hide them. Ditto for subjects like voter ID. None of which deterred libs from voting for him.
The (Coexist/"Just Be Kind") lefties that populate Louisville and Lexington are typical Democrat drones. ANY (D) is preferable to ANY (R).
And it's not just abortion. This happens when governments pretend things to be true that aren't true. Ask yourself what's common between slavery, the holocaust, and abortion? In all three cases governments pretend that certain people aren't really people and thus are of lesser or no value.
Someday legalized abortion will end, like slavery and the holocaust. Why? Because pretending that certain people aren't really people goes against nature and thus the policies don't last. You can fool Mother Nature for a while, but Father Time WILL catch up to you.
BTW, "preborn" is a better and more accurate term than "unborn".
I believe they have all sold their souls to Satan.
Agree. Who can say that this virus is not judgment for some of the acts of mankind?
In the phrasing of their founder, “human weeds”.
