In a deadly threat situation, one must continue to fire until the threat is neutralized. The perp might have a gun holstered on his ankle and pull it and kill you after you merely wound him. Can’t be too careful. Literally. Fully neutralize the threat.

I think that’s BS. It may be easier for you legally (but not perfect), but practically, it’s not always true someone will kill you regardless. Assess the situation yourself.

Well, if the intended victim is a woman, she never needs to actually fire her weapon, because the simple click-clacking noise of the round being chambered will surely scare that old meanie away. /sarc
