where the hell is the DOJ?

***************

You shouldn’t ever have to ask that question. Not in America. But we all know what the Department of Just Us is about these days.

They had no support from the left, and now are losing support from the right. A lot of people are waking up to what many of us have known for years. About 50% of those that become police would probably be criminals otherwise. There are some good ones, but in general police are best avoided and shunned in their community.

These “officers” should fear for their miserable lives. spit.

Yep...and lawsuits against the police are no help. The taxpayers are the ones who lose in any legal action.

Our worst had lethal consequences.

Even after that, I never tarred all LE with the same brush.

But I’ve never seen such widespread misconduct, engaged in and condone by so many.

Federal action is the only thing that will stop this in the short term.

Where is it.

I know many of my local deputies. They, to a person, state that if push comes to shove, they stand with the citizens - not the politicians.

Our sheriff is a Constitutionalist.

I know some LEO and they are very conflicted, because they know they’re doing the wrong thing by obeying those orders.

Paychecks, benefits, career advancement and a generous retirement plan make it a lot easier to ratioanlize any personal conflicts away. Just saying.

Our side isn’t violent and we do these things during the broad daylight, not in the darkness of night.

“They need to do it at the police dept., not the individual’s home.”

No. Go to the homes of the officers. I was hoping someone would do that at the homes of the cops harassing the churchgoers on Easter. The videos were perfectly clear, so the cops could be identified. How can they do that — and in the Bible Belt, too?

The people are sick of tyranny.

Does the phrase "I was only following orders" sound familiar?

Your post reminds me of a famous quote...

“When government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.”

From the piece...

We know that, nationwide, the pandemic has claimed a disproportionate number of African Americans lives.

I only scanned the article, but I would bet my allowance that there was no mention of Vitamin D.

Vitamin D (it's really a hormone) is an effective antiviral substance for many bugs, including influenza (that's a big reason why the flu subsides every late spring and summer.)

Vitamin D is formed when skin is exposed to sunlight. We all make it, and we make more of it during the sunny months, at lower latitudes, and humans of color make less of it due to the nature of the melanin content in their skin.

There is no racism component. Persons of color are victims only of their own natural Vitamin D deficiency; and it's easily correctable. Over-the-counter vitamin D3. It's cheap, and one suspects the difference in china-Virus outcomes between dark and fair-skinned humans. Every US Citizen should consider either getting a little extra sunning time (don't burn, okay?) or prudently supplementing with Vitamin D3.

Easy breazy, take the D3.

When police become tools of oppression and tyranny they should be hated. The “I was just following orders” isn’t an excuse after WW II. Act like a Nazi—face the noose. The cops who stood by and let Antifa Thugs beat up Trump supporters—in front of them—should be punished. Those cops thought more of their jobs than justice. Such cops are just two steps away from shooting the enemies of the Democratic Party. Most police are doing a hard job—excess isn’t permitted.

Yes, they need to protest at the police HQ and town hall. But the officers involved need to realize the Nuremberg defense won’t protect them either.

One other thing that just adds to the travesty is that when they arrested the mother, her children were left completely alone on the playground. The cops brought nobody with them to be sure the kids were OK. Just left alone. If the mother had left them there alone it would have been child neglect, but if cops do it, it’s no big deal.

though it is not analogous to the Carlson event, the mesage needs to be directed to the police as a whole unit, not to the individual officers; agreed, should have taken place at the municipal offices...

I disagree. It’s like saying German protests should have been made against the Waffen SS Headquarters, and history knows that would have been suicide for the German protestors.

Individual officers need to be held accountable for tyranny. “Just following orders” is not an excuse for depriving people of their rights.

The fact that the local police department felt the need to send over what looks like 4 officers just to guard the home of one of their officers and they are easily outnumbered 3 to 1 by protesters sends a very strong message. If you are working for a government in law enforcement and you realize that crowds of citizens are gathering at the homes of law enforcement officers that is an unmistakable message.

"When government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny."

Too many government employees think they can abuse people without consequence. Stuff like this drives home that consequences are possible.
