The European Union warned Israel Thursday against applying sovereignty over portions of Judea and Samaria, vowing to closely monitor Israeli moves in the area.
In a statement released Thursday afternoon, EU foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell noted the deal between Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Blue and White chief Benny Gantz for the formation of a unity government, expressing a willingness to cooperate with the new Israeli government in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, while cautioning the Jewish state against altering the status quo in Judea and Samaria.
The European Union takes note of the political agreement that could pave the way for the formation of a Government in Israel. The European Union is willing to closely cooperate with the new Government on fighting the coronavirus.
Technical cooperation is ongoing and will be strengthened on all aspects of the pandemic. The health of our citizens and addressing the economic consequences of the coronavirus are our shared paramount priority.
Borrell warned that the EU would strongly oppose Israels application of sovereignty in parts of Judea and Samaria despite the move being supported by the US as part of the Trump administrations peace plan warning that such a step would be a major violation of international law.
The European Unions position on the status of the territories occupied by Israel in 1967 remains unchanged. In line with international law and relevant UN Security Council resolutions, including resolutions 242 (1967) and 338 (1973), the European Union does not recognize Israeli sovereignty over the occupied West Bank.
The European Union reiterates that any annexation would constitute a serious violation of international law. The European Union will continue to closely monitor the situation and its broader implications, and will act accordingly.

Did Israel tell the E.U. to go pound sand? There’s a whole lot of it in their region and they are welcome to do so.
Who decides International Law? Who selected them? Who enforces it?
International law is a vague term describing vague expectations that differ among all nations, fully subjective in their nature and without any force of law.
We need our sand, and EU diplomats are not welcome to so much as one grain of it. They can pound BS, though, since they have an oversupply, and more dribbling out of their mouths all the time.
So...the mighty EU Luftwaffe will soon be darkening the skies over Tel Aviv?
Dropping what? Strongly worded letters?
Tell the EUrocrats to enjoy their Muslims.
So, is France going to give back Alsace-Lorriane???
China doesn’t pay attention to international law, and I don’t hear any complaints from the EU.
...And Mayotte, and St. Pierre & Miquelon, and French Guyana, and Martinique, and Guadeloupe, and... and... and...
You and what army is going to stop it.
Also, quit calling it annexation.
If you moved your fence line 5 feet because that is were the boundary of property had always been it isn’t annexation nor invasion.
That’s because China isn’t full of t3h j0000z.
Let’s face facts: The *ONLY* reason that Israel has replaced pre-1994 South Africa as the world’s official “Devil-Country” is because the Euro-elites just can’t get over their centuries-old, and undying hate-boner towards t3h j000z.
Which elected legislative body and executive passed these so called “international laws”?
And who enforces them?
Also, China is huge and powerful, so can’t be bullied. A tiny sliver of a country surrounded by enemies is easier to push around.
Apparently the EU hasn't gotten the memo that Israel is not in Europe and therefore the EU has no jurisdiction over them whatsoever. Israel should send them a world map to help explain.
Well, tell “international law” to mobilize their army and do some exercises on Israel’s border. I’m sure that will convince them.
The EU’s toast.
They once were supposed to keep peace at the Egyptian/Israeli border. That was from 1956 until 1967, when at the first sign of trouble they buggered out and said “good luck”.
How can they annex something that already belonged to them?
Jerusalem should FINALLY tell the EuroNazis to GTH!
My Lord, years and years and years of their lies and meddling and threats. They never cease, they never reform, they never ever even try to de-Nazify.
For the sake of simple morality, human decency, and history, they should be helping Israel grow and be strong and build the land (and they should be doing this even if they didn’t have their long, long record of attacking and murdering innocent Jewish people). But no, they’re so dam*ed evil... they don’t even try to get over their Satanic ways. They don’t even try... because they don’t want to...its really this simple.. they WANT to finish their “final solution” ... they (along with the UnitedNazis) are nothing more or less than Lucifer’s Legions.
(they will get their just rewards to be sure). Dam* the EU! Dam* them!
Well, the only “peacekeeper” that actually works is one that all the other bad hombres are afraid to mess with, and the UN doesn’t fit that bill.
